Kara's crystal looks very different in this episode than it does in previous episodes. In "Lara" for example, the crystal was rather thin, and had ribs, or finger grips. Here, it is much thicker and the grips are missing. edit »

Kara mentions that she has been surfing with Jimmy while on a trip to Coast City. In the comics, Coast City is the home of Hal Jordan, Earth's Green Lantern. It's also an important city in Superman's history as well, as it was the city that was destroyed by the Cyborg-Superman, one of the four men who claimed to be Superman, resurrected after his battle with Doomsday. edit »
Blue Kryptonite has appeared in the comics. However, its effects are quite different from that in this episode. Pre-Crisis, Blue Kyptonite hurt Bizarro like Green Kryptonite hurts Superman. Post-Crisis, it makes Bizarro speak normally and makes him kindhearted. Throughout the comics Blue Kryptonite does not appear to have any effect on Superman. edit »
