We find out that Lois Lane is Chloe's cousin in this episode. Lois later appears on the show in season 4.
(edit)
Music: "So Damn Lucky" by Dave Matthews, "The Reason" by Hoobastank, and "Try" by Nelly Furtado.
(edit)
Adam walks through the halls of Smallville High and says the classic line "It's a bird..." - this is typically shouted by those who see Superman in the sky.
(edit)
Martha's e-mail address is CNH320@instamail.org. "CNH320" was the license plate number of the General Lee, the car driven by Bo (John Schneider) and Luke on The Dukes of Hazzard.
(edit)
A picture of the Smallville High mascot wearing a Superman-like costume (see "Drone") can be seen for a short moment when Chloe's computers are returned and turned on.
(edit)
Lex: Look, I hate to think you wasted a trip to Metropolis, but I seriously doubt my father's trying to kill Chloe.
Clark: Why? He was willing to put his own son in a mental institution. You know what he's capable of. (edit) Adam: Remind me again what your school mascot is. (a young man walks by wearing a Crows jacket) Oh, wait, it's a bird.
Lana: Okay, it's a small town. We take our school spirit very seriously. (edit) Lana: Clark will always be a very important part of my life. But whatever there was between us is gone. (edit) Pete: Welcome to the Torch. Unplugged.
Chloe: Pete, what happened to my computers?
Pete: A bunch of deliverymen stopped by this afternoon. LuthorCorp took the computers back.
Chloe: But they were donated.
Pete: Yeah, well, I guess the Grinch changed his mind. (edit) Lex: I was looking for the, uh, on-call tech guy.
Molly: Well, you found her.
Lex: You... you work in the tech department?
Molly: Would you rather have a Play Station addicted dork wearing a Star Wars T-shirt? (edit)

When Adam and Lana fight and he hits Lana and then she hits the floor really hard on the back of the head. Shouldn't that hurt a little? Or make her unconscious? But she didn't even make a sound when she fell and she is fine afterward.
(edit)
When Clark enters Molly's apartment, you can see through the window that it's pouring out. Yet Clark comes in perfectly dry without even the aid of an umbrella.
(edit)
When Lana firsts gets the brainwashing email, she drops her handheld computer and attacks Chloe.... but when the fight is over Lana immediately pulls it out to check the origin of the email.
(edit)
Molly gives Lex a CD to do the virus scan with. Surely Luthercorp would have an active viruschecker running on each PC? Even if not, to successfully scan a computer with a CD, it would have to be disconnected from the network, rebooted with the CD, and then reconnected to the network. Not something you would trust senior management to do correctly.
(edit)
Lana's stunt double is noticeably taller and broader than Kristen Kreuk.
(edit)
Pete: Yeah well, I guess the Grinch changed his mind.
Pete is referring to one of Dr. Seuss's characters in his books but after Seuss's death, a 2000 live-action feature film adaptation was produced. Directed by Ron Howard, it featured Jim Carrey in the titular role. The Grinch is an unpleasant grouch and is always out to ruin or sabotage something and he has even stolen Christmas. (edit) Adam: I don't know. I guess I've watched a few too many Jackie Chan movies.
Jackie Chan is a popular martial artist and actor who performs his own stunts. He is recognized worldwide for his acrobatic fighting style, comic timing, and use of any near-by objects as improvised weaponry. (edit) Adam: I think Norman Bates would be right at home here.
Adam is of course referring to the classic thriller "Psycho" (1960), a film directed by Alfred Hitchcock and based on a novel by Robert Bloch which was about a very mentally distrubed man (Anthony Perkins) who was seemingly dominated by his mother to the point where he disguised himself as his own mother. It spawned a series of sequels, and was later remade in 1998 with Vince Vaughn as Norman Bates. (edit)
