ABC has just announced that it is cancelling the daytime dramas "All My Children" and "One Life to Live." AMC will air its final episodes in September, OLTL will go off the air in January of 2012, according to an ABC spokesman.

Not to sound like a broken record, but the writing was on the wall. "All My Children" had been a sitting duck for awhile, but the cancellation of OLTL was a surprise of sorts. Pretty soon, there will be exactly one soap left on each network. Best of luck to "General Hospital" and ABC's new slate of lifestyle programming.
