When Sonic and the rest of the Freedom Fighters are too busy to play with Tails, he begins to feel neglected. He heads into the forest to practice his dirt hockey skills on his own, though he discovers a baby terrapod, which he decides to play with. However, when he eventually takes it back to the rest of the Freedom Fighters, they discover that the terrapod and the rest of its group are outside of their migratory path, and that Robotnik is trying to capture them in order to roboticize them. The group decides to help escort the terrapods through great jungle, though will they be able to escape the swat bots?
