| Writer: | Peter Corey |
| Director: | Alan R. Vardley |
| Star: | Matthew Corbett (Matthew (Presenter)), Brenda Longman (Mo from Market, Soo's voice), Scampi (Himself), Richard Cadell (Presenter (Series 6)), Liana Bridges (Presenter (Series 6)), Sooty (Himself), Sweep (Himself), Soo (Herself) |
| Guest Star: | Richard Cadell (Richard), Liana Bridges (Liana), Brian Sandford (Puppeteer), Peter Saxon (Puppeteer), John Seaton (Puppeteer) |
In the next scene Liana just appears and its ironic in three years time she disappears without no reason for her entrance or exit. Soo says, "Isn't she great" when it's clear to see SHES NOT. In her first words she sets up the plot for the show and she does this in certain episodes of Sooty Heights also so am glad she was fired but should have had a goodbye episode for her leaving.

So Sooty and Sweep hunt out for crimes to solve. Also to note Richard sells something on his first try so another in-joke saying Richard is a better man for the job. They catch the burglar, which is Scampi and puts everyone in a police line-up. They lock him in jail and the bars are made from flake bars. Liana searches for the notepad and realise it got took to the charity shop and they sent it back.

And to end I have to mention what Matthew said at the end "I Have to say it almost sounds to good to be true (looks to camera) I must go away more often". At the time you didn't notice this but on reflection you have a tear in your eye, as you know what he means. Peter Corey wrote this episode and if I didn't told you that you couldn't tell the difference if Matthew wrote it. Again softens the blow for what is about to come in the future.

Thankful no one took anything they realise the jobs they need to do before Matthew gets home so they all work through the night. There's a nice puppet trick with Sooty sleeping in the middle of the counter. So to round off everything was all right for Richard and Liana first time in charge of Sooty & Co.
(edit)
The main ‘In-Joke' is the mentions to Richard's hair. While at the time this would of pass you by but looking back you get the joke. As Richard earlier appearance was in ‘Busy Christmas', The Sooty Show episode feature him as the Young Magician of the Year and he had strange hair. It might be called an Afro but it looked like a sheep died on his head. From little jokey comments to a scene where Sooty and Sweep as Sherlock Sooty and Dr Wosit trying to pull off his ‘wig' this in a sense makes the audience warm to Richard as he's the new ‘handy man'.

How did a step ladder was handy in the shop but in the same place it was found early on was nowhere to be seen.
(edit)
When Richard says "what's on telly tonight" the television listings are on the other side of the paper he's looking at.
(edit)
The CITV Logo is so dammed big in its first weeks. Who's idea been that?
