The ending of this episode was different than planned in the storyboard. Originally, Cartman got arrested right away before he gets the chance to go and have fun. I guess they decided to change the ending and let him have his fun before getting arrested to make it funnier, which it was. edit »

It seems that Casa Bonita is a real restaurant in Denver, Colorado. More info about it is at this site www.casabonitadenver.com. There was another Casa Bonita restaurant located in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area. This location closed down in 2006 though. The only Casa Bonita restaurant that currently exists is the Denver location. edit »

Eric Stough is the regularly credited Director of Amination for South Park. For this episode he was credited as Eric Leopold Stotch. The character of Butters was based on Eric Stough and in this episode we learn that Butters first name is Leopold. 28 Days Later:

When Cartman tells him not to leave the bunker, and the fight with the zombie, the whole zombies and radiation part is similar to a lot of movies, but one in particular is the 2002 film 28 Days Later.

Also, Butters coming out of the refrigerator not knowing what's going on and seeing South Park as deserted and trashed is like Jim in "28 Days Later" waking from a coma. edit »
