This is one of the few episodes before season 5 where Kenny doesn't die; however seeing as this takes place at the same time as "Jewbilee", where Kenny sacrifices himself to free Moses, he dies off screen. (edit) This is one of the very few times Cartman does anything nice out of sympathy and doesnt end up completely ruining it at the end. (edit) Jay Leno does not return as the voice of Mr. Kitty. (edit) Stan, Kyle & Kenny didn't appear in this episode; however Stan does appear in 'Two Naked Guys In A Hot Tub' and Kyle and Kenny do appear in 'Jewbilee' and these episodes make it 'The Meteor Shower Trilogy.' (edit) Shelly's 22-year-old boyfriend Skyler will reappear with his band under the name of Lords of the Underworld in the 4th season episode "Timmy! 2000". (edit)

Shelley:(shrugs)Okay.
Lianne: All those other babysitters wouldn't come back. (edit) Lianne: Oh, that sounds fine. I'm going to a meteor shower party. The number where I'll be is on the refrigerator. Eric's nookie time is 9 o'clock sharp. If his little woogums get cold, you can turn up the heat over here. And if he gets cranky, just play tummy-rub-rubs with him, and make sure he wipes good after he makes bears. (edit) Cartman: (approaches Shelley) Well, go put that pizza in the oven, b*tch! I'm hungry! (she punches him into the wall) Ow!
Shelley: Alright, turd, listen up! Now that your mom is gone, I'm in charge. I don't know how you treat your other babysitters, but when I'm babysitting, you're nothing but a little turd. You're a stinky dried-up stupid turd! Got it?!
Cartman: You can't hit me! Didn't you see those nanny videos on TV? (she punches him, sending him into the wall again)
Shelley: My boyfriend is coming over, so you go to the kitchen, and you make us that pizza before I snap you in half like the little turd-stick you are! (edit) Cartman: ( as "Artemus" Clyde Frog) If we save her, I am going to take off her pants and play Slip'N'Slide! (edit) Cartman: Look out, Artemus Clyde Frog! It's a giant metal spider!
(Tosses Clyde aside, aims at a plush spider hanging on the edge of his toy box and fires toy gun)
Cartman: Bang! Bangbang!
(Strafes and performs a cartwheel)
Cartman: Yoyoyo, jiggity jiggy with it! Bang bang bang!
(He Tosses a baseball at the spider and knocks it out of the box)
Cartman: We saved the day! The Wild Wild West, The Wild Wild Wild West. Uhyo wicky wicky scratch, Uh wicky wicky scratch… (edit) Shelly: They're having a cat orgy! (edit) Cartman: (Doing his rendition of Wild Wild West) Well, I'm a badass cowboy living in a cowboy's age, whicky-whicky scratch yo-yo bang-bang. Me and Artemus Clyde Frog go save Salma Hayek from the big metal spider. Whicky-whicky-wick fresh, cowboy from the westside. (edit) Skyler: Stupid stuffed animals trying to ruin my night! (edit) Narrator on TV: The Male Lion now wants to be alone. he sends the female away an promises he will call her tomorrow. But the female won't leave. No, she is moving right in. Looks like the male lion is screwed. (edit) Shelly: Nobody my age will go out with me because I'm too ugly!
Cartman: You're not ugly.
Shelly: You don't think so?
Cartman: Well, you're pretty ugly, but you don't have to be dating 22 year olds. (edit) Skyler: How long do we know each other?
Shelly: Tomorrow it will be 8 days. (edit) Liane: The babysitter's here, come on downstairs.
Cartman: But, Mo-om, I'm playing Wild, Wild We-est!
Liane: I have to leave soon, Eric.
Cartman: But Ma-a-am! Me and Artemus Clyde Frog still have to do our love scene with Selma Hyea-a-ak! (edit)

Visitor Sighting: An alien appears on the screen in "Aliens" right behind Ripley. Then Shelly (who is babysitting Eric Cartman) interrupts Cartman and tells him ''Well I'm watching Friends Turd''. (edit) When Cartman first goes to get catnip underneath the sink, there are no dishes beside the microwave, but in the next scene there is dishes on a rack. (edit) When Cartman is trying to call his mom but can't because Shelly is using the phone, she says "One minute Gary" to the person she is speaking to. Cartman asks who she is talking to and she says it's her boyfriend. But later on in the episode when her boyfriend comes over, his name is Skyler. (edit) When Cartman was in the kitchen and looked at the note his mom wrote, it said to Cartman, but when he was reading it he said to Eric. (edit) Something always bugged me about the cat after this episode. Mr. Kitty is a girl, when she presents herself to the alley cats. Mr. Kitty?!? It took a while for me to notice this (edit) The drummer in Skyler's band apparently hated Shelly's turd song and said it was "gay." But why was he smiling and looking happy when he was drumming to it? (edit)

Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope:

Cartman tells Kitty "You're my only hope", this is a reference to Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope when Princess Laya tells Obey One Kenobi the same thing. (edit) Aliens:

Cartman can be seen watching Aliens on TV at one point. He repeats Newt's line "They mostly come out at night. Mostly.." in a mocking tone. (edit) Pink Floyd:

When Cartman takes a picture of Skyler and Shelly kissing, he says "Ha ha, charade you are!". That is a reference to the Pink Floyd song "Pigs (Three Different Ones)" where the phrase "Ha ha, charade you are!" is used. (edit) Wild Wild West:

At the start of the show, Cartman is playing "Wild Wild West." This is an obvious reference to 1999's Razzie Award winning Will Smith film, Wild Wild West that came out the same weekend as "South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut" and the creators of the show thought it was the most dumbest idea for a movie. In Cartman's version, Polly Prissy Pants plays Selma Hayek and Clyde Frog plays Artemus Frog. He also sings a hilarious parody of Will Smith's song, "Wild, Wild West."

Cartman's "Wild Wild West" also spoofs the theme song to "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air" which also starred Will Smith. (edit)
