In a part of the episode, Cartman tells Scott that his (Cartman's) grandma is gonna die if he doesn't give the doctor $16.12. Two episodes later, in "Cartmanland," his grandma actually does die! (edit) According to Matt and Trey on the "The Hits" South Park DVD, this is the first and only episode to not have two plots, and the one that "turns Cartman from a little s**thead to the most evil kid in the world". (edit) This is one of the only episodes that ends with one of Cartman's plans working out. (edit) This episode was listed as the "Most Outrageous" episode by Comedy Central (edit) If you remember the episode before this "Super Best Friends" Cartman says that he hasn't even gotten his pubes yet, and in this episode he bought pubes...ironic? Mr. Tenorman: I know who you are! I'm calling the police.
(Many men scramble out of the bushes)
Men in bushes: Oh no! I gotta get outta here! (edit) Jimbo: Wow, those are great…Ned, are you jackin' it?!

(Mr. Tenorman comes outside)
Mr. Tenorman: Who's out there?
Jimbo: (whispering) Dammit Ned, stop jackin' it.
Ned: I can't. (edit) Cartman: Excuse me sir, could you please point me in the direction of the pube fair?
Man: The pube fair? There's no such thing, you little smart ass. (edit) Cartman: Don't be jealous guys! This doesn't mean we can't still hang out. It just means I've matured faster than you. You'll get your pubes guys, someday.
Kyle: Cartman you don't buy pubes, you grow them yourself!
Cartman: What?! (edit) Jimbo: What's a 'Radiohead?'
Cartman: You know, that band that sings that song (sings) 'Well, I'm a creep. I'm a weirdo...' (edit)

At the beginning, Kyle says Scott Tenorman is a ninth grader, but later, during the meeting, Kyle says he is an eighth grader. (edit) When Kyle says "Yeah-huh" to Cartman when they are fighting about how to get pubes, it is Butters' voice, not Kyle's (edit) The end of this episode is also referenced in "The death of Eric Cartman" when Cartman lists the bad things he's done and gives a crying Scott a fruit basket. (edit) The end of this episode is referenced in "Cartoon Wars (2)" when Cartman talks to Bart about the worst thing he's ever done. (edit) During the chili eating, Cartman eats the chili down below the edge of the bowl, but when he tells Scott that he switched the chili with Chef's chili before eating it, there's some above the edge of the bowl again. Titus Andronicus:

At the end of Shakespeare's play "Titus Andronicus," Titus reveals to the Emperor Saturninus that the food he and his wife, Tamora are eating is actually her sons, Chiron and Demetrius.

Titus did this to avenge his daughter Lavinia after Chiron and Demetrius raped her and cut her hands off and cut her tounge out. Tamora and Saturninus were responsible for the framing and the execution of two of Titus' sons and lying to him so he'd cut his hand off.

In comparison, $16.12 doesn't seem like that big a deal.

Kenny dying in this episode is similar to the way the Weasels die in Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Laughing so hard they die and then their ghost rising up laughing as well. (edit) Hannibal:

Cartman even does homage to Dr. Hannibal "The Cannibal" Lecter from Hannibal twice. First, when he describes a scene from said 2001 film, and second, when he licks Scott Tenorman's tears. (edit) Se7en:
When Cartman arrives in Ft. Collins a boy delivers a box to him. Cartman opens the box and is horrified to find more pubes. This is a reference to the end of the film Se7en, when Detective Mills (Brad Pitt) receives a delivery box and opens it to find his murdered wife's head. (edit)
