Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy IV had some really funny parts, while Doing Time was very confusing and rarely made me laugh. hide show

Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy IV: I used to not like this episode, but the more I watch it the more it grows on me. Hands down the best part was the ending, it made an excellent poke at Plankton's size. Squidward had an enjoyable role that provided many laughs, as did Patrick, although I'd be lying if I said it was among my favorite appearances of the lovable pink blob. However he did provide one of the most memorable parts of the show in this episode: Wumbo. What is wumbo? We'll probably never know, but Patrick sure thinks we should. A very good episode, although not exactly A or A+ material. Score: B+ 8.8/10

Doing Time: Ugh. I have a feeling this part of my review might bring a lot of disagreements, but I don't care. I didn't like this episode. Excuse me for disliking something other than SpongeBob B.C. from the sacred Season 3, but I do. It just plain did not entertain me. It had two decent parts: the chili part and when the old fish's life memoir written in red ink gets covered with the red punch. But outside of those two parts, the episode was just a big mess. Nothing made sense. The first couple minutes were at least logical, but soon nothing made sense. The whole plot became incredibly confusing, and I STILL don't know what the ending was all about. Not good, but I have to admit, not exactly bad. Just mediocre.

    Score: C+ 7.8/10

    9.5 Superb

The best MM&BB episode, and Doing Time was ok. hide show

Wow, I'm more than surprised to see how low people are rating these, I note that most of this rating is because MM&BB 4.

Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy 4: I love this episode so much! It's hilarious, it's actually my favorite from all the Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy episodes, I even have it on my all-time top 10's! SpongeBob was hilarious on this episode, I just love to see him all desperate causing mayhem! lol Squidward was great too. And don't get me started on Patrick, this is one of his best appearances! WUMBO! That was genius. And the ending was hysterical. I simply can't find a flaw on this episode, that's why I give it a 10!

Doing Time: This is one of my least favorites of Season 3, a bit too random, but I love Mrs. Puff, and she was great on this episode. It had some good jokes, specially the one where they compared the life of a married man to being in prison, lol. Overall, it was just ok, I'd give it a 8.2

Good, but not great like most of Season 3 hide show

Not all of Season 3 had to be epic, but that doesn't bother me because those writers are humans and they are allowed to have good episodes that aren't great.

MM & BB 4 - While I've got friends who love this episode (cough Jelly cough), I think its ok. I found it kinda weird, but I did love Patrick and the study of Wumbology lol. So I'd give this eppy a 7/10

Doing Time - This was the better of the two. The ending brought the score down because it was not really clear and it just seemed like filler. As for the rest it was great. 8.5/10

Thus leading to a final score of an 8

Seriously? These are season 3 episodes???? hide show

You know, I'm sorry to say this, but for season 3 episodes, this pairing wasn't very good. I think I only liked two parts out of MM and BB IV, Patrick's scene with the "wumbo" joke and the very end when Plankton came back from his vacation to see that Bikini Bottom was small. The thing I disliked most about this episode was the fact that there was too much gross-out bodily humor, such as miniature Squidward being cut in half with scissors and all the townspeople going inside Spongebob and cutting up his veins and beating on his internal organs and stuff. EEEEEWWWWWW! Doing Time was better than its partner, but it still wasn't a great episode. There were a couple scenes I found funny such as Spongebob and Patrick trying to rob the bank and when we find out Mrs. Puff is having a great time in jail. The episode overall, was very weird and it had a very confusing ending. Overall, these were, unfortunately, below average episodes, but Doing Time is much better than MM and BB IV. Marebear2009, out!

Doing Time was good, and MM&BB IV was ok, I guess. hide show

In doing time, Mrs. Puff goes to jail again and Sponge Bob and Patrick try to get her out of jail with every scheme they have such as trying to get arrested, disguising as rocks, hiding in food, and so on. The most fascinating part of this episode is that this has the first appearance of the Mayor of Bikinni Bottom XD. Grade:B-

Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy IV was about Mermaid man leaving his belt at the krusty krab and Sponge Bob takes it and shrinks a lot of things in the kitchen such as a table set for a bug to eat on. Then he shrinks everyone in bikini bottom, and he shrinks the town, and himself. Every thing is so tiny even Plankton can't fit.
