The deadline for Week 1 picks is 6 pm on Wednesday. That's just over 3 days from now.

If you have already signed up, be sure to make your selections for Week 1 by Wednesday.

If you still haven't signed up for the contest, post on this thread before Wednesday. With the point system (one point for each correct pick), it will be very difficult to catch up to the leaders in the contest if you miss a week.

The deadline approaches...everyone, be sure to get your picks in!

Keep in mind that picks can be edited up until the deadline--it's better to get your picks in early than to miss a week by being late.

Also, everyone should take the opportunity to visit this forum often to post their comments and reactions as the season unfolds. It's a bit unusual to have the "engine" on a different website, but let's keep in mind that this is a TV.com contest, and I hope that we keep a high level of activity and interest on this forum as well...that's all part of the fun.

I'm finding the first week to have several games that could go either way--the great unknowns of a new season, with so many new variables. Well, good luck everyone, and let's have fun!

The Yahoo site lists every home team as the favorite. I find that strange for a couple of the games.

I posted my picks last night. Only 6 of the 24 entrants have made their selections so far.

I made my picks. I figured I'd rather get them in, and then edit them if I change my mind. I also was a little lost by who the "favorites" were until I realized it was all the home teams. I stuck with most of the real favorites, except for 2 games where I picked an upset. I also like that Yahoo has a way to settle ties each week.

Yeah I was wondering why the Dolphins were favored to beat the Jets.

I'll wait till Tuesday. I'm still not sure which released vets will be signed and which waiver wire pickups we'll see.

Last chance to sign up without missing the first week. The deadline to post picks for Week 1 games is tomorrow afternoon. If you've been thinking about joining the contest, you should make up your mind tonight. Post on this thread to indicate your interest in joining. Thanks.

Each person should only create one Picks Set on the Yahoo site. I'm deleting the extra picks set that someone has created. I'll assume that it was just an oversight. Please try to avoid creating extra Picks Sets in the future. Thanks.

Almost everyone has now posted their picks for Week 1. Only 5 people haven't picked yet, including a few veterans from last year's contest. The deadline is 6 pm ET. Don't be late!

I'm in. I picked seven "underdogs." For now! Like mining for gold!

Got my picks in just a few minutes ago. I went with my Giants over the Redskins, which a few weeks ago when have been no brainer for me, but now with our defense in its current condition I am not too sure.

Outside of Jason Taylor, most of the Redskins' roster changes have been either superficial or inconsequential. I'd give Big Blue the edge.

The Redskins' offense has looked horrible this preseason. The defense hasn't been that great either.

I have several upset picks this week, including Houston over Pitt.

I also noticed that the home team isn't necesarily the favorite anymore.

Especially if you picked Baltimore. Kyle Boller was their last hope on offense, and now he's done for the year.

I can't make picks for week one anymore? I am out... that ticks me off too much since not one single game had been played, yet I cannot pick for the entire week one?

Is there anyway to delete my name from the league? I tried to do it, but like not being able to make picks for week one, I could not do that either.

I was trying to drop out of the league (hard to do?) and found out that deadlines can be set... WHY do we have a deadline, when there is the option to allow for picks within five minutes of the first game played?
