Last night was the first round of the 2012 draft, which means we're on the slipper slope to rookie camp, summer training, and the preseason. My first question of the year is, what are your thoughts on this weekend's picks?

I'm surprised the Giants haven't taken a TE yet. They seem to be drafting replacements for the players they lost in free agency.

Cowboys trade up to get Morris Claiborne 6th. Good move for Dallas.

Overall, my Bears had a so-so draft; we virtually ignored all our O-line issues but we shored up our defense and secondary.

Also, congrats to Northern Illinois QB/Indiana farmboy Chandler Harnish on being Mr. Irrelevant 2012. Best wishes holding a clipboard for Andrew Luck.

Junior was arguably the best linebacker I ever saw that wasn't named Mike Singletary. He was a beast on the field, but out of uniform he was a gentle giant. A no-brainer inductee in Canton come 2015, unless the PFHOF waives the five-year wait. He'll be missed.

An early fantasy tip: don't draft any Fins or Rams.

I'm really kinda surprised the Redskins were able to beat the Saints last week, but they should be able to beat the Panthers tomorrow. I'm also glad that Peyton beat the Steelers and got a win in his first game in 20 months. Hoping he beats the Falcons on Monday night as well.

My Bears are giving me headaches yet again. In Week 1 we blow out the Colts, than we embarrass ourselves against the dreaded Packers. We're a 9-7 team for sure.

If that. The OL is beyond garbage. No way Cutler lasts the whole season healthy. He is going to get run into the ground & he's already had his meltdown. Also teams need to stop punting to Hester. I don't know why they think they can stop him. Just kick it out of bounds and be done with it. The arrogance in football is beyond ponderous.

Haha, yeah. I'm again surprised that the Panthers beat the Saints, but I really don't think I should considering they don't have their head coach. I thought Brees and the offense would be able to score enough to win, but obviously the loss of Payton is hurting them there. Not really sure who to pick between Chiefs-Saints, but based on how the Chiefs played last week, I'm picking Saints again.

Hmm, wrong again. Well, looks like no playoffs for New Orleans this year.
