The 2012 AFL season is quickly approaching, kicking off on March 9 as the Pittsburgh Power visit the Orlando Predators.

The league, in its twenty-fifth season, will go with 17 teams, as no one seems to have an explanation as to why the Vigilantes will not take part in 2012. Other changes include the Tulsa Talons relocating to San Antonio, which I guess will have to become my new team.

Kickoff - touchdown! Kickoff - touchdown! Hike - touchdown!

I could never get into Arena football. Just way too much scoring. Looks more like highly organized playground football. Plus the logos & uniforms are mediocre at best.

Since it's comeback, I haven't been able to keep the TV on NFL Network for long periods of time when I actually do remember about it, but I do enjoy the higher scores. At least the game is designed to have high scores, and the guys are all still playing as competitive as can be. (since some of these guys are trying to get better to play in the NFL) It's much better than the Pro Bowl, at least.

I would make some snarky comment about how no one will consistently comment on this thread, but alas, I'm the guy that starts the CFL "discussion" every year.

On a semi-related note, my belated congrats to the 2011 Grey Cup champion BC Lions.

Lol, same here on the congratulations to the Lions. Speaking of the CFL, has anyone heard anything on progress made towards the relaunch of a franchise in Ottawa?

Terrell Owens' Allen Wranglers are 2-0 so far in the young 2012 IFL season.

And getting back to the AFL, the season starts tonight, and I'm actually tuning in as the Predators host the Power. (Go Predators!)

The Pittsburgh Power defeat the Orlando Predators, 40-26. It was hard to tell the teams apart with the Preds' light gray uniforms compared to the Power's white road uni's. 13,002 people attended in Orlando, a place that averaged 12,701 spectators a game in 2011.

What's wrong with the Orlando Predators this year. They used three different QBs including current starting Chris Leak(Tim Tebow's predecessor at Florida)

I also noticed that the New Orleans Voodoo has improved over last year.

There was a players' strike and I believe the Predators are using a lot of "replacement players".

The AFL has no union? Interesting...
