Aired: 07/12/97

Show Summary

Edit Summary »

It is not a good time if your chosen profession is spy. The Cold War has ended, and spies are no longer in high demand. While ex-Secret Agent Lorne Cash is trying to determine what to do next, he is requested by the President to assist the Emergency Counter Hostilities Organization. A young rookie member of ECHO, Maxine 'Max' London, is assigned to be his partner.

This late era spy must now become accustomed to the modern era "Spy Game".

Definately cheesy... hide « show »

but I absolutely loved this show. There's no real reason for it. It was an irrational love affair. I admit it.

I would so buy it if DVDs came out. It's to bad it was canceled. It's a prime candidate for cult classic status. Unfortunately it was on long enough for very many people to catch on to it.

A really good show about the spy world. hide « show »

A really good show about the spy world. This was more than a pretty good television series. As is normal with good television shows, this one did not last long enough. This is a show that I would suggest watching if you get the chance. Check the bargain bins at Wal-Mart, the online movies sites (Amazon.com and such) and all of the cable channels that run old shows. Nick at Nite and TV Land are great for theses kind of shows. They will even do a week long spot for shows that only had 6 or so episodes. Then you have your super stations. They run a bunch of old shows too. All in all a pretty good show that did not get a good enough chance. Sometimes it is a simple as the show it is up against. Look at Law & Order. It is one of the longest running shows on TV. They moved it to go up against Lost. After about 2 weeks of getting pounded in the ratings it was moved back to it's original time slot. Shows like this should be given more of an opportunity.

The world is a fickled place:for good shows hide « show »

I remember so long ago (in Kenya) when Mr. and Mrs. Smith ended I was like a widow who'd recently lost her husband. Then it was replaced by Spy Game and I knew I had found love again this time one that was going to last. The best spy show i've ever seen is this one, it beats Alias to the ground and shows 24 the mud and God i love this show. I wasn't lacking in any area; from rich comedy and great spy drama this show just shows the lack of appreciation of good tv. God, all the things I would give to have it back. This show was the best show in its category ever made and if it comes down to that i'll profess my love for it. God this show was the best thing that happened to Friday Late Night before BTVS (which is still the best thing to have happened to Friday Late Night)

Before ABC got Alias there was Spy Game. Spy Game was a mid season replacement show in 1997.Imagine The Avengers, but Steed and Mrs.Peel are American, brought to you by Sam and Ivan Raimi hide « show »

Ivan Raimi created Spy Game and what would you expect from the writer of spiderman, darkman and army of darkness. Mindless Fun!!! It was like a fun version of the Avengers. Allison Smith was great casting as a younger and hipper version of Emma Peel. She could have been a prototype for Sydney Bristow. I couldn't believe this is the same actress that was Jennie Lowell from TV Series Kate and Allie who I grew up watching.

Like all ABC shows in the late 1990s, it was cancelled too soon. I would buy the dvd if they issued one.
