Tricia O'Neil played the doomed Captain of the Enterprise-C in "Yesterday's Enterprise." She also played Korinas in the DS9 episode "Defiant."
(edit)
This is Guinan's last appearance until the movie Star Trek Generations.

Beverly: So.... that's the story. That's how I managed to end my career.
Guinan: (makes a motion with her arm) Backhand volley.
Beverly: What?
Guinan: (talking about injury) That's how I did it. Geordi kept hitting to my backhand at the net...
Beverly: Guinan... have you been listening to me?
Guinan: I've heard every word you said.
Beverly: And this is the response I get? Two people have died on this ship... two lives that ended, horribly... and you're worried about your tennis game? (edit)

Slight shift in Ferengi cultures. In this episode, Capt. Picard claims that Ferengi death rituals require that the body not be disturbed before burial. In DS9, we discover that the Ferengi are dessicated and sold off after death.

Beverly took the shuttle without anyone noticing in this episode. First, would she, just being a doctor, know how to take a shuttle without having alarms go off, and second, wouldn't the Enterprise immediately put the shuttle in a tractor beam as soon as they knew it was an unscheduled launch?
(edit)
If Jo'Bril was planning to take the shuttle (the prototype) with him, they would eventually notice that his body was missing. The obvious conclusion would be that he had something more to do with the disaster and the technology wouldn't be discredited at all.
(edit)
Beverly leaves Sickbay after finding Tetryon traces in Jo'Bril's tissue, thus confirming her theory of sabotage. She apparently heads directly to shuttle bay to take the shuttle Dr. Reyga modified out to test that his metaphasic shield really works. How did Jo'Bril get out of stasis, to the shuttle bay and hide away in the shuttle before Beverly got there?
(edit)
Jo'Bril apparently survived, and imitated death, by controlling his rate of cellular decay. Beverly made the decision to do an autopsy on Dr. Reyga against his family's wishes because she said that just a tricorder scan couldn't give her the forensics information she would need to prove her theory that he was murdered. This indicates that an autopsy still requires actually cutting open the body, even in the future. How could Jo'Bril have survived this, which is essentially vivisection?
(edit)
The shuttle which was equipped with Dr. Reyga's metaphasic shielding is named Justman. This is a reference to Robert H. Justman, a director and producer with the Star Trek franchise from the very beginning. He was assistant director for the original series pilot "The Cage (1966)."
