  • Who is your favourite female in the show?

I love Janeway because she is a female captain and shows that a female can take control and make the right decisions.

  • Star Trek: Voyager The Movie

Has anyone heard if they are going to make a movie based around the Star Trek: Voyager family? I think this would be a great idea as the series is sadly missed. I hope Paramount or whoever take this on board and make a movie out of this. Anyone else agree?

The Federation in a Pitcher Plant hide « show »

Ive never written a review before but I had to write one for this one. In concept this was a good one, but they already did this when Voyager was stuck in the previous pitcher plant. The major problems with this episode is in the beginning when Chakotay and Tuvok pair up and attach the Captain. First and foremost, when did you ever see these two characters work together, and now they attack the Captain? I guess the writers went back to their old bag of tricks and used a concept that worked in the past. The redeeming quality of this episode is that the Captain sticks to Starfleet rules (this time) and starts her own mini-Federation which works out in the end. Morality proven, better to work together than die alone!

the adventures of the starship voyager as it travels 70,000 light years back home. hide « show »

The 4th installment of the Star Trek franchise. Voyager is transported 70,000 light years away from earth to the Delta Quadrant. As they make their way back home, they continue Starfleet's original mission of discovery and diplomacy.

Voyager's maiden mission was to capture a rebel Maquis ship and bring their crew to justice. While pursuing them through some kind of space nebula, both ships are transported to the distant Delta Quadrant. The only means for them to get back home is destroyed and the two crews must work as one in order to survive and get back to the Alpha Quadrant and Earth. Voyager's captain is Katherine Janeway. Second in command is Commander Chakotay, former leader of the Maquis crew. The security officer is Lt Tuvok, a Vulcan and Starfleet operative who worked undercover on the Maquis ship. Lt B'Lanna Torres is the chief engineer, Lt Tom Paris is the helmsman/pilot, Ensign Harry Kim, the holographic Doctor, Kes and Neelix round out the rest of the senior staff on board. Later on, Voyager takes on another crew member. A Borg named Seven of Nine.

Voyager nicely continues the Star Trek franchise, the idea of traveling to new places and meeting new people. Since Starfleet has never traveled to the delta quadrant, the missions are all first contact. Voyager makes some friends and they make some enemies along the way. Some species want to help them in their journey and others want to steal their technology. Occasionally, they pick new passengers. Right off the bat we get Kes and Neelix. Neelix is Talaxian and he askes the crew to help him rescue his girlfriend Kes, an Ocampan. They in turn assist Voyager in rescuing two of their crewmates. Later on, Voyager picks up their most shocking crewmember, a Borg named Seven of Nine. Janeway frees Seven from the collective and encourages her to be an individual.

Throughout the 7 year journey, Voyager battles quite a few enemies, most notably the Borg. The Borg play a prominent role in the series. They provided some of the best episodes, contributed several crew members to voyager and also provided Voyager with a way back home.

All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed this series and catch it whenever I can in reruns.

Star Trek: Voyager is a good show. Almost as good as the best example of Star Trek, that is, in my opinion, Star Trek: The Next Generation. hide « show »

Star Trek: Voyager is a good show. Almost as good as the best example of Star Trek, that is, in my opinion, Star Trek: The Next Generation.
Star Treck: Voyager, like other Star Treks, is a science fiction show with a heavy component based on drama. In my opinion, the science fiction elements are just the start engine and the spice used to create a developed stage to show the watcher how human behave in certain situations, like betrayal, love, prejudice, quest for power and many more. Some characters are good, but unfortunately they are only the minority. And the doctor is too hard to believe, despite I think he is the best character in the show.
Overall the episode quality is good, but there are some episodes that drop the quality solidly. Unfortunately they are a good part of the show.
Star Treck: Voyager isn't the best Star Trek, but it is one that is faithful to its origin. And one that is fun to watch.

    7.5 Good

Not as good as the darker, and superior, 'Deep Space Nine.' 'Voyager' was a return to the more traditional, traveling starship formula for the 'Star Trek' franchise. hide « show »

'Voyager' brought back the traditional 'Star Trek' feel of having a starship traveling around and meeting a new alien species (almost) every week but changed the formula by making them far from home and mostly alone with no real constant allies. While this style is comfortable for most fans, I preferred the more stationary, more serialized series 'Deep Space Nine.' 'Voyager' did attempt to have a very small bit of ongoing story lines but for the most part kept each episode standalone.

Throughout its 7 season run, 'Voyager' managed to have some thought provoking and creative episodes, but also had its share of less interesting ones that used repeated ideas and episodes with predictable "twists." It started to pick up a bit around season 3 but started to falter again by the end. Had it carried on a few more story lines throughout, I might have had a stronger interest in it.

I'm not sure why some fans believe this is the best of all the 'Star Trek' series because I don't feel like it took any real creative risks or did anything that REALLY made it stand out. It's not great, but it is good enough that if you are a 'Star Trek' fan, it will keep you entertained.

Warlord inhabits Kes so Jennifer Lien can show her acting chops.Warlord held captive by J.L.'s limited acting skills. Warlord stamps about, yells loudly and frequently at everything and engages in suggestive breathlessness when not pleading a headache! hide « show »

One of the worst Voyager episodes, if not the worst! (False Profits also is in the running). The overacting by Jennifer Lien makes me want to hide behind a 5th planet or something!! If I wanted to show somebody how great Star Trek Voyager is, I would never show them this episode until they had seen all the great/ good episodes and could see what an aberation this episode was. The character of Kes is always best in small hypospray doses! Kes went out on a high note and that is the Kes I prefer to remember. Bottom line: Its just embarrassing!
