Anakin leads a mission to destroy the Malevolence with the new Republic bomber: the Y-Wing starfighter. Homages are abound. hide show

A good follow-up and continuation to the first Malevolence episode. Here we get some of the series' first starfighter action since the movie and it's pretty entertaining, whether it's dodging giant space beasties thanks to Anakin's shortcut, trying to get outside of the Malevolence's ion weapon, or making an attack run on that very cannon in homage to the original movie's Death Star attack. In fact, this episode brings those homages and tributes left and right, which is fun to see and doesn't feel overdone by the end. The continuation of the involvement of Plo Koon is another plus as is the humanizing of the clone characters, making their deaths emotionally resonant to a degree. It's an action packed episode and a good set up to the finale of the trilogy, though I had personally been surprised when I learned there would be a follow-up since the victory in this episode seems complete, giving it a good stand-alone nature as well. While it does lack a certain something that pushes it to greatness, it's still a solid addition to the series and Star Wars mythos.

    7.5 Good

The attack on Malevolence is a short series of torpedo blasts on the control tower until Ahsoka speaks up and decides to go after the Ion cannon first. hide show

Anakin and Ahsoka along with Plo Koon goes after Malevolance and attempts to destroy the control tower. Overall out of 10 I would give this episode a 7.5. I think that they rushed in too far into the war when Ventress shows up immediately with Yoda. There still hasn't been an in-person appearance by Obi-Wan Kanobi, and he's the most important jedi I believe in the saga. This is a pretty cool episode because it shows that Ahsoka is not just all looks and no brains, but that she has the intelligence to notice certain things about battle, and determine what should be done to avoid losing as many clone lives as possible. The next episode probably won't go through with the destruction of the ship because it still has to exist for the 3rd movie to be 100% accurate, or extremely close to it.

    10 Perfect

This show not only promises high expectations, it delivers them! :!: hide show

While there have been other experiments in trying to bring "Star Wars" to the T.V. screen as an animated series, it wasn't until the mini-series of the animated "Clone Wars" came out on Cartoon Network that George Lucas finally had an animated hit. Now fresh off from "Star Wars the Clone Wars" animated movie, George Lucas has unveiled the second iteration of "The Clone Wars" cartoon series, and actually makes the C.G.I. version bigger and longer than the first mini-series was! And not only is there more action and adventure this time around, everything within the episodes seen so far is better to! I really like how certain elements within the series are alluding to events that will happen in the future episodes of the "Star Wars" movies. This episode was all about Anakin Skywalker taking a risky but neccessary gamble to stop General Grievous and his powerful ship of the Malevolence, from attacking and destroying a crucial healing center for the Clone Army of the Republic. The Clone Army is willing to trust Anakin Skywalker, and take a chance with a hazardous shortcut through an unstable nebula to get to the Healing Center before Grievous can. But the unstable nebula provides more than just hazardous weather, there are dangerous space manta rays to worry about to! It takes some fancy flying, but Anakin's troops are able to get through the Nebula, mostly unharmed. Then the true battle begins. Anakin and the clones fly out to meet General Grievous head on. But the space droids aren't willing to go down without a fight! Some clones and droids alike are destroyed in the battle, protecting the needs of the many that outweighed the needs of the few. Ahsoka, manages to turn the tide of battle because of her suggestion to change their plan of attack. Similar to what happens in "A New Hope," Anakin and his troops attack the firing station, so when Malevolence tries to attack, it explodes on itself, largely crippling its abilities to fight back, forcing Grievous to make a hasty retreat! This episode was truly exciting!
