Notes

add »
Nickolas Baric (Hester) previously played an SF Guard in the Stargate SG-1 episode "Urgo." (edit)
James Chutter (Wraith Scientist) previously played Babbis in the episode "The Return (1)." (edit)
This is Teal'c's first time on Atlantis. During the Stargate SG-1 Season 10 episode "The Pegasus Project", Teal'c stayed behind in the Milky Way to watch the Supergate while Sam Carter and Cameron Mitchell (Ben Browder) went with McKay to a black hole in the Pegasus Galaxy. Daniel Jackson (Michael Shanks) and Vala Mal Doran (Claudia Black) remained on Atlantis, interacting largely with Elizabeth Weir (Torri Higginson) and Morgan La Fey (Sarah Strange). (edit)
At the beginning of this episode, during the "Previously On Stargate Atlantis" clips, a line was added in voice-over to the Intergalactic Gate Bridge explanation McKay gave to the crew of the Daedalus in the Season 3 episode "The Return Part 1". The line -- "The program is completely secure. No need for a Shield or an Iris." -- explains why no IDC was required for the Wraith to infiltrate Midway Station. (edit)
David Hewlett voiced the "previously on Stargate Atlantis" line. (edit)

Quotes

Sheppard: (after being in a Jumper for days) Thank god! I almost shot myself with a stunner!
Ronon: I understand. (edit)
Rodney: (opening cockpit to reveal Sheppard) Lasted about a day then sealed himself in there. (edit)
(Dr. Lee is greeting Teal'c and Ronon on board the Midway station)
Dr. Lee: Why don't I show you to your quarters?
(They all begin to walk down the corridor)
Dr. Lee: Unfortunately, you're gonna have to share. As you know, there's not much room on the station.
(They reach their quarters. Dr. Lee opens the door)
Dr. Lee: There's a DVD player, and a few movies - oh! I saw Norbit the other day, actually it's...it's kinda funny. Erm...there's some Sudoku books, although I think (Looks at desk) - no, there all solved. Er...like I said, it's a bit small but, er, you're only here for a day so kick back, relax, have an Earl Grey and get to know each other better...or not.
(Dr, Lee leaves, shutting the door behind him. Teal'c and Ronon just look at each other, without saying a word) (edit)
(After Ronon fatally stabs the Wraith feeding on Teal'c with a broken pipe)
Teal'c: Excellent timing.
Ronon: Indeed. (edit)
Teal'c: Tell me of Sateda.
Ronon: What do you want to know?
Teal'c: When did the Wraith destroy it?
Ronon: Years ago.
Teal'c: Your army was unable to fight?
Ronon: Oh, we fought back. The battle lasted days.
Teal'c: And when you finally surrendered, what did the Wraith do then?
Ronon: We didn't surrender. We fought until every one of us was either dead or captured.
Teal'c: So tell me then. Is it true that negligence on your part is what first alerted the Wraith to your presence? That your reckless actions brought about the deaths of thousands of innocent...
Ronon: (violently slides his tray off the table and aims his blast gun to Teal'c's head) THAT'S A LIE!!!
Teal'c: (calmly) Indeed it is. Yet should such a question arise during your interview, I trust you will not respond in a similar manner. You do, after all, know how to "play the game". (edit)

Trivia

add »
The planet in the Pegasus galaxy that the Wraith used to get hijack the McKay-Carter Intergalactic Gate Bridge was designated M4F-788. The planet Sheppard and McKay use to get to Midway is M6R-125. (edit)
This episode marks the first appearance of the Wraith Stun Bomb. The device is similar to the Goa'uld Shock Grenade. (edit)
The money that was exchanged between Chuck and Colonel John Sheppard was Canadian currency. It was actually several five dollar bills. In addition to Canadian currency and American five-dollar bills, Japanese Yen and Euros can also be seen in the sparring match, as the expedition is a multinational undertaking. (edit)
At the end of the episode when the Daedalus picked up the Puddle Jumper, everyone except Sheppard is sitting in back compartment. According to McKay he sealed himself in there. So if it was locked from the inside, how could McKay open that door with just pressing a button. (edit)
Ronon: You say that a lot.
Teal'c: What?
Ronon: "Indeed"

In Stargate SG-1, the writers usually managed to get the word "indeed" into Teal'c's dialog every episode. Teal'c said very little else in many early SG-1 episodes. Ronon's use of the word later on signifies his acceptance of Teal'c as a worthy ally. (edit)

Allusions

add »
Lee: You actually liked it?
Kavanagh: It's his finest film.
Lee: Pearl Harbor?!

Pearl Harbor is a 2001 film starring Ben Afleck and Josh Hartnett, about two best friends, and their love lives, as they go off to war. (edit)
Dr. Lee: Oh! I saw Norbit the other day, actually it's...it's kinda funny.

Norbit is a 2007 film, starring Eddie Murphy and Cuba Gooding Jr., about a mild-mannered guy engaged to a monstrous woman who meets the woman of his dreams, and schemes to find a way to be with her. (edit)
