Adrian Zmed (discoing Marty Decker) would go on to co-star as Officer Vince Romano in seasons 1-4 of 'T.J. Hooker' (1982-1986), another Aaron-Spelling hit (which reworked several 'Starsky & Hutch' plots – which were themselves already twists on generic plots).
(edit)
This episode was the sixth filmed for the season, but it was picked to be shown first.
(edit)
Antonio Fargas (Huggy Bear) does not appear in this episode.
(edit)
This season has a revamped version of Tom Scott's classic, famous second season theme tune. This version of the theme is by far the easiest going, bounciest of the four season's individual themes, reflecting the definate change of tone in the series.
(edit)
'Starsky & Hutch' returns for it's forth, and what would be it's final, season. And with it, came the most noticeable changes of the series' run. The third season had seen the gradual move to less violent, more "socially relevant" and light-hearted stories. By this fourth season, stories were now very tame, with few "gritty" stories of the early episodes, and more stories played very tongue-in-cheek. But the most immediately noticeable difference with the fourth season is Hutch's appearance. Not only does he now has a moustache, but also has a noticeably different wardrobe, and actually looks a little tubby – the latter two are due to the injuries he suffered in a skiing accident prior to filming of 'Class In Crime' the previous season. Soul was forced to wear a back-brace for this season, hence the sudden move to much looser, very casual clothes and slightly tubby appearance.
(edit)
As Starsky and Hutch are driving around looking for Tony Mariposa's home and the missing Sergeant Lizzie Thorpe, when the Police Dispatcher and Captain Dobey come through on the radio (dubbed on after filming), much of the background noise in the car suddenly disappears – and bursts back in with S & H's dialogue.
