Stephanie March: Biography

Stephanie was born and raised in San Angelo, Texas. From a very young age Stephanie knew she was destined to be a part of the arts. Stephanie followed her heart when she got to high school by participating in school plays and drama. She attended Northwestern University majoring in Theater and Hispanic Studies. On Stephanie very first audition she acquired the role of Helena in �A Midsummer Night�s Dream�. Premiering in Chicago, where she had the opportunity to pursue other theatrical roles. March struck it lucky in 1999 when she landed the lead role in Arthur Miller�s �Death of a Salesman.� She played opposite Brian Dennehy. Her career took off from there.

Stephanie March: I eat out two nights in a typical week. There are probably three nights that I eat raisins, cocktails, olives and Goldfish, which is what we have in the apartment.(edit)
Stephanie March: (on her guilty food pleasure) The double jalapeno cheeseburger from the Sonic Drive-in in Texas is insanely good. It's so greasy and gooey with cheese and peppers, and they serve it with tater tots.(edit)
Stephanie March: (on research for Law & Order: Special Victims Unit) On SVU, I was able to talk to a woman named Linda Fairstein, who headed the sex crimes unit in Manhattan. Since then, we've had a rotating group of real-life ADAs who come to the set, and it's been enormously helpful. Their stories are just as exciting and bizarre as anything we do on TV, but they're not getting paid as much. I don't know how they do it.(edit)
Stephanie March: (on resuming the role of her Law & Order: Special Victims Unit character, Alex Cabot, on Conviction) It's a very different show than Law & Order, so it's really fun to get to bring back this character, who I'm very fond of. I always had ideas about what she'd do in her personal life, so now I really get to explore that. She's definitely single, and on the show she hooks up with a couple of people�costars and guest stars.(edit)
Stephanie March: (on leaving Law & Order) I want to be certain to emphasize that I have zero complaints about Law & Order. It was a fantastic work experience and I really miss the people quite a bit. But, you know, you get to a point where you feel like, as a character, you kind of said everything you can say. And then it becomes quite redundant. It was my first on-camera job after college. I got really lucky and I thought, I just have to do a couple of more things before I get too comfortable. Perhaps all I need is a long break.(edit)
