ABC streaming all seasons of Lost

Every single episode of the popular island drama is available online in high definition on ABC.com.

ABC is pumping out Lost promotions in droves. Early this week, the network began publicizing a new alternate-reality game for the show through a phony press release issued for Oceanic Airlines, the fictional commercial airliner in the show.

<em>Lost</em>'s John Locke wonders if these streams are OK'd by the WGA.

Lost's John Locke wonders if these streams are OK'd by the WGA.

The network also pieced together a recap of all three seasons in a surprisingly thorough video that runs eight minutes and 15 seconds (815 is the flight number of the show's ill-fated plane). (The video is available for viewing in the video player in the upper right corner--obviously there are spoilers for seasons 1-3.)

For those of you who watched the recap video and got a hankering to watch the shows in their entirety, ABC has a hatchful of goodies ready to view online. The network is currently streaming all three seasons of the hit show in high definition on ABC.com.

Only high-performance computers with solid Internet connections will be able to see the streams without any stuttering at full-screen size, but TV.com editors test-driving a few episodes this morning ran into very few problems.

A representative from ABC confirmed to TV.com that the streams will be available through the end of the month and that they were posted (with little promotion) in the middle of this week.

Networks don't often give the entire library of a show to the public for free, but ABC seems committed to promoting the heck out of Lost any way it can. The timing seems a bit odd (though no one will complain), since the season three DVD was released just over a month ago.

Season four of Lost begins January 31 in its new Thursday 9 p.m. slot. For more information on the show, read TV.com's previous coverage.

"I've tried to watch a few episodes on ABC.com and at the moment, it doesn't really make for a pleasant viewing experience. My connection is good enough, it just seems that they're streaming to too many people, as it hangs every 5 - 10 seconds. Hopefully they fix this before the end of the 'free' campaign."

No, this means you computer or internet connection is not fast enough. HD takes a lot of bandwidth and computer resources. Sorry

Great, so the studios make all the money for themselves while the actors, writers, directors and the rest of the crew get nothing. Here is idea try streaming the episodes with no commercials and make the viewers happy. Wait...they won't do that because the studios won't make any money. hmmm imagine that. Anyway this strike is not going end anytime soon. The studios just don't care because it seems many viewers don't care. Hope you all love watching reality television seven days a week.

wow, how greedy can they get? likely NOBODY who worked on the show is getting money from that, while the studios will be raking in the ad money
