Gameshow from Nippon to be remade in US; program features human Tetris, hilarity.

Now this is a reality/game show that we can finally get behind.

Fit in the hole or break your tibia.

Fit in the hole or break your tibia.

Fox is continuing its reality-laden lineup by finally making what looks like a good decision. If a network is going to remake a gameshow, it's best to get your source material from Japan, where they know how to do it right.

The network is remaking Hole in the Wall for US audiences, according to Variety. But this isn't one of those answer-a-question-for-cash types of game shows. In Hole in the Wall, contestants attempt to contort their bodies to fit through a cutout in a moving wall; if they fail, they're knocked into a small kiddy pool of water.

Fox has ordered a pilot and will decide whether or not to make it a series at a later date.

Clips of this game of human Tetris have been a hit on YouTube, and the game has moved over to other countries, including France, Russia, India, and Australia.

Japan has a long history with awesome gameshows, and G4TV has capitalized on the fad lately with its block of programming dedicated exclusively to the genre.

I love Japanese television, but I have no desire to see American versions of their shows.

Takeshi's Castle also known as Spike TV's Most extreme Elimanation Challenge (MXC) is great especially the improvatational voice overs by The Groundlings comedy troupe members Vic Romano and Kenny Blankenship(not their real names BTW) and guys Guy LeDouche(yes TimSpot I see your avatar!) and who can forget Captain Tenneal. All the cahracters are voiced by four actors Victor Wilson, Christopher Darga, John Cervenka, and Mary Scheer.

Haha... Takeshi's Castle would be pretty funny. I also love the game show of Do Not Laugh and Silent Library. Look it up on YouTube. XD

The clips of this look hilarious(!) cuz that's one of the things Japan does best -- game shows. And their game shows are really just about having fun and not demeaning people like other shows do (American Idol anyone?) BUT, knowing how tv is here in the US, then I wouldn't be surprised if it did get adapted and made, and then turned out to be completely horrible, mean, and not to mention dispirited.
