Aliens in America canceled, Reaper, 90210 will be on next season, says source.
The roller coaster ride of emotions for Reaper fans continues, as the CW supernatural comedy has hit another peak (or is rushing down a steep slope, depending on one's affinity for coasters).
Just weeks after Reaper seemed on the outs at the CW, a reversal of fortune may be happening. E! Online cites a source claiming that Reaper will "likely" be renewed.
TV.com recently talked to Reaper star Bret Harrison (interview to post later this month) about the chances of the show's return, and he was "optimistic."
"If you had asked me a week ago, I would have said no," an "insider" tells E! about Reaper's chances. "But there have been a few changes, and now it’s looking like it'll probably get the green light."
Also looking at good fortune--and this is no surprise--is the modern-day take of Beverly Hills, 90210. The show has been fast-tracked since it was announced earlier this year.
It isn't all roses over at the CW, though. The same insiders claim that critics' darling (and TV.com darling) Aliens in America will not be back last season, as suspected. I think it's time for a Save Aliens in America campaign. Watch this clip to see why.

05/14/2008 14:41:25It's about time that a Studio makes the right decision. I'm really getting sick and tired of all the good shows getting cut just because the majority of TV audiences want something that can be spoon-fed to them so they don't have to think.

05/10/2008 20:30:03Yay for "Reaper"!!! I'm still discomforted about the dire future of "Aliens in America", especially since there are so few programs on the air today with some thoughful comedy. And on a semi-unrelated note, "Smallville" should have gotten the axe already. The show is "Buffy...", except with DC characters, and since "Buffy..." only got 7 seasons (some argue 6.5), "Smallville" shouldn't get any more.

05/10/2008 10:23:22I agree with the decision of the producers and the people who have to make this necessary decision. Aliens in America was a good show no doubt like most tv shows are, but, it still lacked that charm which pulls the viewers into it. There was nothing drawing me towards making sure I don't miss an episode, and it took me most of season 1 to actually start seeing the show. No harm done I would say. But, ya if they would have canceled Reaper, I would have boycotted television itself... You can't just go around thinking about canceling TV Shows which are super awesome. I am seriously the possibilities with Reaper are endless. Though it is getting a little tiresome, specially the whole deal with Andy, surprisingly I am actually scared whenever Andy acts funny. haha. Any who... looking forward to new episodes of Reaper

05/10/2008 04:20:27woah cool, and since i dont care about Aliens in America i'm glad it's taking a hit for the team (it decidedly being cancelled only makes reaper not being cancelled more possible because it frees up resources to at least keep something else). Still though CW's "rollercoaster" style of pondering only shows how allergic they are to obviously good shows, just renew Reaper already damnit.

Maybe they should have ended Smallville's run considering two, if not three of the stars are leaving. If so, they could have pair Reaper with Supernatural on Thursdays since both shows deal with demons. One comic, one dramatic. That would be cool.
