Fox thinks Hole in the Wall fits perfectly in its schedule, orders 13 episodes of international hit.

Those of you who can't stand to see another international game show being adapted for American television may want to leave now. The rest of you (there are some of you left, right?), keep reading.

In February, it was reported that Fox was thinking of making a domestic adaptation of the Japanese game show Hole in the Wall for the US courtesy of FremantleMedia North America, the same group behind American Idol. The network ordered a pilot of the show and was set to decide on whether to order it to series at a later date.

That later date was today, as Fox announced that it has ordered "13 hours" of the Americanized Hole in the Wall (no word on how long the program will be, but hour-long episodes are a good guess).

The game is a smash in Japan, and has spawned several international versions in Europe, Asia, and South America. The game show is likened to "human Tetris" and sees contestants attempt to contort their body into a shape cut out of an approaching barrier. If they can wiggle their way through the hole, they advance; if not, they are pushed into a pool of water.

Clips of the international versions of the show have been a viral video sensation, drawing millions of views on YouTube.

Fox has yet to date the US premiere of Hole in the Wall, but it has announced open casting calls for those who feel limber enough.

I love the Japanese versions! I think we might ruin it by American-izing it.

i don't see why they have to substitute the japanese with americans, you don't have to understand a word of it and its still one of the funniest and best game shows i have EVER seen!

Didn't they already do that fit the body through the wall a hundred times on The Ellen Show? I notice Ellen doesn't have that segment anymore. It's been replaced by Guitar Hero.

This isn't an American show. Japan can pull this stuff off and make it hilarious. In American it won't even be close to the same.
