CBS schedule late to party

CSI season premiere, others held 'til October; Survivor (in HD!) kicks this off September 18.

CBS is taking the "it's a marathon, not a sprint" approach to its 2008-2009 fall schedule, and won't be busting out of the gates early, like some people.

Bruckheimer's Eleventh Hour has action, explosions, and late-night gardening.

Bruckheimer's Eleventh Hour has action, explosions, and late-night gardening.

The network will amble into the new season on September 18--a full two and a half weeks after Fox premieres its first taste of Fall '08--with the debut of Survivor: Gabon, the 17th installment of the reality pioneer and first edition to be broadcast in high definition.

After that, things get a bit tricky. CBS's lineups for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday nights will all debut the following week--September 22-28. The network's Thursday and Friday lineups, however, are getting lost in the political process. Those two nights will be pushed back to accommodate some sort of "presidential debate" stuff (who cares about that, give us Ghost Whisperer!).

Friday's lineup, which includes Ghost Whisperer, new series The Ex List, and Numb3rs, will show its stuff on October 3. Thursday's scripted shows--CSI and Jerry Bruckheimer's new drama Eleventh Hour--won't see the air until October 9.

The Ex List--a show for desperate women everywhere.

The schedule remains unchanged from what CBS previously announced, with new shows Worst Week, The Mentalist, Project Gary, Eleventh Hour, and The Ex List all spread throughout the week.

CBS thinks they have it all figured out - less episodes before the LONG xmas/winter season repeatisodes - less they have to pay the writers and less episodes per year - they are no dumbies OR ARE THEY? - I plan on getting hooked on NBC and off network programs and stay loyal to them - can spend my hard earned dollars on sponsors that see the light and go elsewhere with their money like I will - chill people - you have the power to decide to "turn the channel" - watch reruns if you need to wean yourself off CBS - some of the 'other' channels can even accomodate that habit - hey and good luck with that CBS - I could use a high paying job with you giving bad advice - seems to be what you are paying for - hahahahahahaha

I hope cbs fall season will be good this year.
Posted 06/29/2008 9:51am
Well that full month for csi and the eleventh hour is something to take notice of.
Posted 06/29/2008 5:23am
I don't see what the fuss is all about. The fall season usually starts late in September anyway so what does one week make. The only new CBS show I'm looking forward to is the Eleventh Hour.

Posted 06/28/2008 5:31pm
Hope its worth the wait
Posted 06/28/2008 11:52am
I'm not watching any new shows on CBS anyway, I refuse to get invested in a show just to have it pulled by the network after one season. It's a bloody sham!!!
Posted 06/27/2008 6:17pm
They should get Patrick Stewart back on The Eleventh Hour... He was awesome in that show on the BBC! The Mentalist just has a terrible name...
Posted 06/27/2008 1:56pm
If CBS wants to be the most watched network instead of Fox, it doesn't seem that smart to already allow Fox to get a head start. Oh well their loss.
Posted 06/27/2008 12:25pm
I think these new shows coming from CBS sound interesting enough, especially Eleventh Hour. Sad CBS is pushing everything back though.
