Let's not beat around the bush: Aliens are out there, and they want to suck the marrow from our bones. For every fairy-tale story about a cute Reese's Pieces-chomping Extra Terrestrial (totally bogus!), there are ten soon-to-be historically accurate movies and television series showing us what will really happen when the aliens arrive—human kebabs headlining the menu at an out-of-this-world BBQ.
TNT's upcoming Falling Skies is being dubbed an epic alien-invasion series, and has the executive-production power of Steven Spielberg behind it. In Falling Skies, we dumb humans will once again assume that aliens coming to visit us in flying warships will result in a friendly intergalactic meet-and-greet. Wrong. Noah Wyle (E.R.) stars as Tom Mason, a man who's determined to start a resistance force that opposes the militant invaders after an attack wipes out most of the human population. Think Red Dawn with xenomorphs instead of Communists.
Check out the trailer:
What do you think? When the aliens arrive, will you be welcoming them with open arms, or will you be stocking up on arms, ready to blow their brains out?

Really.........another bipedal robot? there is a reason we don't have them or are developing them. Because you can defeat them with a weapon from the before the civil war. Two cannon balls tied together with a chain and you render the robots useless. You would think a history professor would remember the simple bolo. Same with multi leg attackers. I mean really? the marines would have wiped the aliens asses even without technology. Not to mention a field of caltrops would have done more to dissuade the aliens and render the robots unusable. These soldiers dumbest in history.
the thing I'm worried about is it will be cancelled just like V, just like surface, just like Heroes, etc the last good sci fi was battle star and babylon 5 because the producers had the whole story line going in...; 5 seasons then its done... this show is going to start out like gangbusters ,then fade ,then it will be cancelled with no resolution. don't think just because it has a Spielberg stamp on it is going to be great... 8MM was not that good and the aliens look about the same
This looks like a mix between Independence Day and Red Dawn. With a bit of Jericho thrown in there too. Needless to say, I'll definitely be watching. Viva la Resistance!
Please don't say it looks like "V"...that's a real buzz kill...fingers crossed
it looks like V.. soooooooo yeah.. I will give it a try.
actually for me it feels more like the premise of War of the Worlds (the one with Tom Cruise) except the aliens don't suddenly die and the characters need to man up and fight back... anyway i'll be sure to watch this when it airs
Looks very promising. Hope it is more "District 9" ish and less "V" ick.
To JoeFromAZ SYFY would probably find some way to mess it up, at least it's not on Fox which would surely mess it up. Really looking forward to seeing this show.
Why isn't this show on Sci Fy?????
Steven spielberg is trully a very gifted person. It`s look great but a little bit like V but still i`m hooked :))
i keep my fingers cross, It`s been long time since i saw a good scifi Series.Like Farscape , babylon 5 , Battlestar and More :)
Looks good to me.
This looks like what V should have been.
This looks awesome!! Noah is back!! Love him!!
Well I'm looking forward to it, hope its good.
OH EM GEE! Noah Wyle!? YESSSS!!! Soooo watching this!
I'll be waiting for it
i will be stocking up on arms, ready to blow their brains out!!
Cool, It looks like it is going to be a good one!!! Come on June!
Unfortunately, Shaw cable doesn't carry TNT. Miss a lot of potentially good shows that way.
i would go usa on them shoot first then ask questions because if we had visitors there coming to take over
Looks like another typical alien landing on earth show. I love these, but do all the aliens have to be bad news? Can't some of them just be discovering life on earth and work with us?
Looks interesting---though it does remind me of V a bit (resistance-wise)
Well, let's just hope our guns work on them...
oh and i forgot. it will be nice to see noah wylie again...
yes i love sci fi and fantasy...but i really wish that instead of the same old invasion story we could look foward to seeing another something like firefly or farscape...something that takes place in outerspace, not from outerspace...
Yes...yes...YES!! For every movie-teleplay that depicts ET as a warm and fuzzy little buddy to the human race, there aught to be a series like this. Technical superiority does not necessarily presuppose moral superiority. I can't wait to do a complete review of this series!
Looks great. TNT picking up Syfy's lack of Scifi?
Omg, it looks awesome, can't wait to see it! Having Steven Spielberg behind it reminds me of Taken. Please bring us some good Sci-Fi! =D
looks awesome, can;t wait to see if it will be worth the time
June seems far I really can't wait for this, looks brilliant I must say
Sounds promising after the lost of all sci-fi shows that are suppossed to be on the channel that "carry that name", good give us something to kick off sy..
TNT loves them some Noah Wylie, The Librarian and now Aliens, I do too!!!!!!!
I will surely be checking this one out, I'm a sucker for a good world invasion! But 1 thing (well 2) that makes me a bit reserved from this trailer. A new show that has to call itself epic in it's own trailer..not once but twice? Ugh they can do better than that!
i think it looks great. And i love Noah Wyle from his awesome ER days... Bring on more Sci Fi, i say.
It definitely sounds good, I'll try it out...though I'm not getting my hopes up.
sweet
looks awesome!!
Excelent!!! Seems to be all that V is not
GReat news!!
HOLY SH*T That actually looks awesome, So awesome in fact I'm going to ignore the fact that it seems like nothing more than a blend of Red Dawn, V and every other Alien--y project Spielberg's ever done.
I'm definately gonna check this out! The smaller networks have been clearing up in recent years with series like True Blood, White Collar and The Walking Dead. Let's hope this show can join them!
There's no way a network like TNT can pull this off when networks like ABC barely do it.
I will definitely check this out. I think it could be really good, or go horribly wrong. I look forward to finding out what it's all about!!!
it's like a mix of walking dead and war of the worlds
I've no idea about if I'm gonna like the show since it's a bit... old formula-styled, but I'd watch Noah Wyle any day.
looks like a "War of the Worlds" TV series. I will definately check it out.
This is what V should've been like!!!!
I cant wait
