Unfortunate Honey Pie Pony has damaged her leg and must remain in bed until it heals. And as a result, she can't go on a planned outing with her allies in Strawberry Land. Strawberry Shortcake, Ginger Snap, Orange Blossom, Angel Cake, and Huckleberry Pie decide to care for their unhappy friend. And it won't be easy, seeing as Honey Pie's in such a terrible mood, but they are determined to put up with her demands and turn the day around for her. Add a recap »

The gopher and bird in Strawberry Shortcake�s story and the chocolate bunny in Ginger Snap�s story are the first talking beasts other than Custard and Honey Pie seen in the show. edit »
This is a 45 minute episode. The broadcast version is either aired in two parts or edited to 22 minutes.

The following cuts were made to the 22-minute broadcast version to bring it down to the required length:

- The songs "That's Imagination" and "The Gettin' Better Boogie Woogie" are deleted.
- Orange Blossom's puppet show about her juice tree dream and Angel Cake's tale of her berry first birthday cake are deleted.
- Most scenes with Huckleberry Pie are deleted. He is shown leaving to go find the magician and shown saying that he wasn't able to get the magician, but the remainder of the journey is deleted. Additionally, he performs only the magic trick with the rabbit and not the initial, failed card trick.
- Many scenes of Honey Pie's complaining are removed. In the broadcast version, Honey Pie can only be heard complaining about her predicament briefly after being put to bed. Over five minutes of segments in which Strawberry and her friends endure Honey Pie's complaining and consider giving up taking care of her are cut.
- During the opening, Strawberry and her friends give Honey Pie food and drinks to take on her trip and Honey Pie promises to bring back gifts. This material is not seen in the broadcast version.
- A brief sequence in Strawberry's story in which she enjoys her flight in the balloon is removed.
- Ginger Snap's story of searching for chocolate to make chocolate chips ends with the gopher helping her to tow the coins in a wheelbarrow, rather than with her making her yummiest ever chocolate chips and commenting that she goes back for more whenever she runs out. edit »
