Lucy & Sue meet Lucy's mom for dinner when she is in town for a bridge tournament. She tells Lucy that she & her bridge partner are engaged. Lucy is worried about this, and calls the college where she thought he went to check him aout and also sends his fingerprints to the lab. Meanwhile, Jack is woken up in the middle of the night telling him that a judge he used to intern for has been shot. A kid he knows- and gave the internship to- admits to shooting the judge and goes on a tall building to jump. Jack convinces him not to jump but then, when he is told that Billy had drugs in his system, and Billy says he didn't take anything, Jack doesnt believe him. They find out that he met a sorority girl at a rave who slipped a shot of E into his drink. Billy is cleared of charges & they arrest the maker of the E on Drug Manufacturing With Intent To Sell and Murder charges. Lucy gets the fingerprints back and they find out that Dan (Lucy's mom's fiance) has numerous other aliases and is married to 3 other women. Miles and Bobby arrest him at lunch.
