Summer was born and grew up in Roseville, California, a city outside of Sacramento. Summer narrowly missed making the 1988 Seoul Olympic team. She attended Stanford University and won numerous titles for their swim team there. Going into Barcelona in 1992, after winning the 1991 World Championship at Perth in the 200m butterfly, Summer was expected to win several gold medals. She and the rest of the USA women's team were considered failures because they didn't win nearly every event as expected. Summer retired from athletics in 1993.

When I was a little kid, my favorite show was Figure It Out. It was so much fun trying to guess why the kids were on the show and then seeing a little demonstration. One of the show's best attributes was the host: Summer Sanders. Summer has got to be one of the greatest TV hosts ever! She was charming, funny, and always full of energy. She got along well with the panelists (the 4 people who tried to 'figure it out') and the contestants. Her only downfall was that she was a little touchy-feely. She always hugged the kids or had her hands on their shoulders. It got really annoying at times. Other than that, she was really good. I just wish she could have hosted more shows.
She looks excellent, and looks even better on NBA Inside Stuff. Unfortunately I don't like Inside Stuff as much as I used to. She was great on Beg, Borrow, and Deal, and I only watched the first one, though. Still, she is gorgeous and I would like to meet her some day. Fat chance!
