Metallo is shown in action completely without his Human-like skin for the first time.

When faced with an erupting volcano, Superman bores a channel for the lava - a more realistic approach than his "Superfriends" version would have taken. Dropping a huge rock to plug the volcano won't actually work, after all.

Many times when the Kryptonite comes out of Metallo's chest, his body stops moving in an instant. Here in this episode, he can still move (at least for a while). He's even chasing after the Kryptonite.
