1. Supernatural Soundtrack: Music featured on the show | 05/03/2006 10:15am
Please don't kill me.  I've noticed a bunch of new threads starting every time a new song is featured on the show, someone asking what it is, who sings it ect.  I thought that this thread could be used to disscuss all music. Every time someone wants to know about a song, or a band featured on the show come here and ask it instead of creating 10 new threads.  I also thought this would be a good place to express what songs we think should end up on the soundtrack.

I'll go first. I think, "Burning for You" and "Don't Fear the Reaper" by the B.O.C.; "Carry on My Wayward Son" by Kansas; "Hey Man Nice Shot" by Filter; and of course "Highway to Hell" by ACDC should all be on there. But you can't make a soundtrack on 5 songs so what else?

"In da gadda davida" by Iron Butterfly should be on it. (That's the song that sets off "Skin.")

Metallica should be on it. I don't know what song should be on it, but they definitely should be on it. If nothing else, to celebrate our Metallicar.

Oh, and "Fire of Unknown Origin" by B.O.C. should also be on it. It's the song that plays when Dean takes a picture of Sam sleeping with a spoon in his mouth in "Hell House."

"In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" is 17 minutes long. Good luck.

I think they should just put all the songs they've used on there, since they had to pay royalties already to use them in the show. Might be a little hard to get the Rolling Stones song though...

Oh, the Rolling Stones song. "Laugh, I Almost Died." I forgot about that.

And I know that "In-a-gadda-da-vida" is 17 minutes long. But, if they can get it, they should. Cause it's an awesome song, and it'll remind us of an awesome episode.

It is an awsome song.
I was trying to come up with the Metallica songs that should be on there, but I can't think of any specific songs.  I think it's funny that Dean is supposedly so into Metallica and none of their songs have been featured on the show (that I can remember).

He was humming Metallicar on the plane in "Phantom Traveler" to calm himself down.

I'm not sure the song he was humming, though.

"Back in Black" by AC/DC should definitely be on there. all of the BOC songs, "Carry on my Wayward son", "highway to hell", those are all good choices too. I am so going to buy this CD when it comes out!

Yea I thought of that after I wrote the post, but he wasn't humming in a way that we could identify the song, or at least only the hardcore Metallica fans could identify it.

I hope Pearl Jam is cause I'm going to one of their concerts next Friday, and there's nothing worse than an uninteresting concert

Can't forget Bad Company played at the end of "Scarecrow" (go, MEG!).

As well "Bad Moon Rising" by CCR... umm... a couple of minutes ago.

Oh man... that song playing at the end of Devil's Trap... so painful to hear with our boys bleeding in the car.

I know that in "Salvation" (4-27-06) in the beginning when they did the "road so far" thing they played "Carry on my Wayward Son" by Kansas....but during last nights, "The Devil's Trap", what was the name (and artist) of the song they played during the "road so far" thing? Just curious.

Thanks!

You know something weird? I was thinking that Supernatural has to play "Bad Moon Rising" sometime (I love CCR.) Then, they played it. But, now, I'll never hear that song again without thinking of that ending.

Unless it sorta becomes their unoffical 'things are gonna get really bad' warning music. lol

What i want to know is what was that music played in one of the 'previously on supernatural' clips I think it might've been the route 66 episode, or Scarecrow.. the music was very different compaired to what was done before, it sounded like a quasi-blues gutar riff only with more of a rock kick to it. They used in again in that episode where they were pranking eachother each time one of them was like 'oh i'm gonna get you even better'.

Was that original music for the show or does it actually exist as a song?

Sweet!!! I think I'll go iTune every song on that list and make myself a soundtrack. Although when the offical Soundtrack comes out and there is the conducted music made for the show specifically, then I'll definitely be getting that too.
