I can't say I ever watched his show faithfully, but the times I caught it, he always impressed me with his very easy personality. He seemed to be totally at ease, and sounded like he was talking to his audience as individually as he talked to his guests. He seemed also to be a very likeable guy, very down to earh and very approachable, nowhere near as full of himself as some of these other talk show people can be.

My sympathies to his family, friends, and colleagues. He showed a level of class and professionalism not very common in the field these days. Let's all sit back and catch the pictures as they fly through the air... He will be missed.

And let's not forget Jack Paar (2004) and Johnny Carson (2005).

You know you've made the big time when you're the butt of jokes on "Saturday Night Live",vis-a-vis Dan Ackroyd's very funny portrayal of Snyder!

Tom Snyder was the best, I remember watching him when he would come on after Letterman. I remember he once had Gary Busey talking about his cocaine habit, and just getting creeped out by that.
