Forums: Talk Shows: where did they get the Woo Woo Woo chant on the arsenio hall show?

    you know when they are cheering him on, ect. the audience is going Woo Woo Woo over and over at the same time and raising their fist. this is the first show i've ever seen that done on. what does it mean i wonder?

    I believe because Arsenio nicknamed a section of the audience (that sat behind the bandstand) 'the Dog Pound'. What the audience is really saying is 'Woof, woof'. 'My dogs' or 'dog' is slang for my buddies or homies (homeboys).

    I think the woofing has been around longer than the show though. I remember doing that at school.

    I was just going to say that in Garde 6-7 we all used to pound on our deskes really loudly. My teacher said they do it in the House.
