10 years later, Judd Hirsch would play the title character on "Dear John".

The beer chugger in this episode, William "The Fox" Foster, appeared on the first season of Comedy Central's The Man Show as the beer chugging piano player and announcer. At the end of the first season of The Man Show in 2000, he passed away.
