I have a Toshiba CRT television that's undergoing color issues. It's only about 5 years old, so it shouldn't be experienceng burnout or anything, but the picture is dark and there is a definite red tint. Darker areas of the pciture tend to cut off into pure black and skin tones, most noticeably, are unusually red and saturated. I first noticed this issue after I was watching a movie through my PC, as I have an S-video to component cable. I watched about two films before I noticed the discoloration, which is quite severe. At one point the OSD was essentially unreadable, but the brightness also has a tendency to flicker in and out between dark and super dark, and now the OSD is readable and the color is slightly better than it was originally. I would prefer to repair or correct this issue rather than buy a new television, as I don't watch any TV and only really use my television for watching movies.
