Aliens
Danny Farrell's newfound ability to spread promicin leads to several hundred deaths, including his mother. With Seattle in chaos, NTAC is forced to accept Promise City's offer of help. Shawn is faced with a difficult decision when Danny asks him to end his life to stop the spread of promicin.
Beginning 03 March 1946, and spanning over 50 years, 4,400 people were abducted in a blinding flash of light. 14 August 2004 : A comet is due to fly-by Earth harmlessly. However, the comet's course suddenly changes to an impact trajectory, and the combined nuclear arsenals of multiple nations… More fail to destroy it. When the comet appears to slow down — as if it's coming in for a landing — 4,400 people are deposited in explosion over Highland Beach (Capilano Lake, British Columbia, Canada). The returnees — "The 4400" — have been missing from months to years. None have any memory of where they've been, none have aged, and a small number are beginning to manifest paranormal abilities. Theme Song : "A Place In Time" (performed by Amanda Abizaid) The 4400 was filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and produced by CBS Paramount in association with Sky Television, Renegade 83 and American Zoetrope.
Jacqueline McKenzie (Diana Skouris) posted news on her official website regarding The 4400 yesterday. Hello there and welcome back... so it's Dec 12 and still no official word on The 4400.... Thank you for all your messages of support on the Myspace site, I really appreciate it and I'm sure Ira… More and Scottie and the gang really appreciate all your petitions! YAY Flo in France! You rock! Although we might normally have had our official pick up by November, this is not a 'normal' time.... If you've not heard, there is an humungous writers strike going on in America right now. For info you can check out: http://www.wga.org/ Unfortunately, this spells for a rocky time in Hollywood and beyond. The ripple effect has reached Promise City, that's for sure. With no new episodes being ordered, they are selling off our costumes and dismantling the sets at our studio home in Vancouver BC. The cast and crew are all pretty bummed to say the least... but hay, never say die! Look what happened with "Dead Again"... that show was officially cancelled and still made a comeback.... So watch this space! If the show does not go ahead into a 5th season, I will be so sad to say goodbye! I cannot begin to tell you what an amazing experience it has been. From the first meeting with Maira, Scottie and Ira in a room on Pico all those moons ago... and then being asked back to read with Joely (who was already cast as Tom Baldwin)... and then being directed by the wonderful Yves Simmoneau at the final screentest-there in a boardroom with 20 suits! Well, it surely has been one hell-of-a-heavenly ride! I will miss the crew so terribly- too many to name here- and Hershal will miss all his pals too. My bod will probably never be the same without the incredible training I've had with "Miss D" (Danielle Steiner!)... I'm already a bootcamp desperado- and I've not even had Christmas pudding!! So I've just signed to a new trainer here in Oz! Yes, Chief is whopping my a#% into serious shape....OOUUUCH! Seriously though, I'm finding it hard to keep to the subject: possibly having to bid The 4400 farewell...It's too scary!! What will I do without my buddy Joel!? We have come through so much together. I've so enjoyed witnessing his level of commitment to the scripts and to his character- he's a true inspiration... and what about lovely Pattie and his adventures and his childlike awe at everything around him and Aussie Jen with her off-the-set aussie banter and Megalyn with the dancing eyes and the nutty Ninja and the ever gracious and graceful Ali and the wicked Billy C and the hilarious Jeffrey Combes and sweet Sommer and the gorgeous and loyal Richard Kahan and the hotto potoootie Kaj, and the chick we all miss terribly again- the one and only Sam Farris! This is only a little of the cast.... but they are really like family to me- with Scottie and Ira and Maira as our elders and darling Josie Ochej, our sister girl.... Don't get me started! Seriously, "don't even get me started"... In the meantime, I'm keeping this shorter than usual as I'm taking Hersh to the dog beach - it's low tide and it also looks fit to rain... so, one way or another we're going to get wet! I want to thank you for stopping by my site and sharing the music and paintings - I just do them because I just love to do them and they are fun to share... And I want to wish you the happiest of Christmases and Holidays! May it be one filled with love, friendship and a feeling of belonging. Cheers big ears! jm
I watched the first season of The 4400 a while ago, and havne't had a chance to catch up. I recently found out The 4400 was canceled. Is it worth watching all 4 seasons, or does the show leave you in a huge cliffhanger with no closure? I'd hate to invest in 3 seasons worth of episodes to… More only get no closure at the end. Thanks!
I've just spent like an hour going through the episode descriptions trying to figure out which episode had Tom finding out that the 4400 were taken to the future and returned by people in the future trying to prevent a global catastophe. I can't for the life of me figure out which episode… More that was. Can someone help? Thanks!
i still think this show was great. it had all the rigtht stuff in it, the aliens the action and the suspense. i will never forget the last episode of season one, where they are driving past trees and the trees lean after them, cool. hide show
watching the first episode you might think it is just another dumb show but if you keep watching you willnotice that it has more to offer especially when the final pieces come toghther for the finale. the secound season definately had me glued to the screen, they knew how to end a season. the bad thing of 4400 is that guy who kept dying and coming back, one minute he is good then he is bed then good again, it got confusing but what i loved about 4400 was the way they told the stories of the missing felows how they added new characters or taking off others and keep the story going at the same time without getting off track with the main points.i will definately be getting the whole thing on dvd so i can watch the whole thing over and over again, when i am not watching lost of course.
Another investment lost... hide show
I found the 4400 late. I ended up buying the first two seasons on dvd and watching episodes back to back which is how i watch alot of my tv. Anyway i really got into it and for the next two years carried on buying seasons 3 and 4...Then the bombshell. The show is cancelled and my investment is blown. Why? Well because the studio decided that it did not want to carry on so it cut the show. At this point the story was not concluded and we got left in limbo. I am sick of spending good money on these shows - investing my money and time only to be let down by the studios. All the fans of this show and many others ask for is that if a show has run for a couple of seasons or more at least provide the fans with a special episode to tie up the loose ends and provide an ending. I am sure most show runners would like this as well? Is it any wonder people are turning to torrents and downloading everything for free - i can understand it - why invest your money buying box sets when you never know if a show will get the ending it deserves. Anyway - THAT SAID,this is a superior sci fi show and one that is worth watching - just know going in it will not be resolved!
This was a show which paved way for the likes of Heroes, only - as some have said previously - more original and with better actors (generally speaking, not all of them obviously).
I also have agree with what a reviewer previously said about characters like Tom Baldwin - who was a nancy-pansy most of the time instead of someone with enough of a badass side IMO -, the show's moral compass which was a bit too girly at times and the under usage of the 4400's powers vs. just a slight bit too much talking.
A possible explanation is that it's not like they had a huge budget and were a major top 5 show. They weren't and they had limits.
All in all, they still did a much better show than Heroes with much less dough. It's all about the story and these guys had it.
I still miss it! an amazing show hide show
Sigh the 4400 was a great show. I miss it. Especially now it is summer again. I wish they'd do a mini series and wrap up the dangling threads that were left when the shut it down before its time. The show was stylish, well acted, and well filmed. It had an interesting premise with all these people arriving inexplicably back to the present, having disappeared at various points through history. One of my favourite characters was Maia who disappeared in 1946. When she reappeared in the present with the other 4400, she like all of them had a special talent and hers was the ability to see into the future. Tom Baldwin, the lead was a great character too. I still don't understand why they canceled it. :-(
These 4400 men, women, and children, who have disappeared from all different times - ranging from the 1930s until recently - are all returned at once. But to make it even more interesting, they are returned with different powers bestowed upon them. Some characters are good, and do good things with their power, some are evil. The show is brilliant, complete and amazingly written, with suspense and fast pacing, and everything so well thought-out it's pleasure to watch. The writers of "The 4400" handle the show's arcs well. Through the mythos they've created and continue to extend each week, they treat their viewers with a respect that most of us aren't used to seeing.
