Bonanza ran on NBC from 1959-1973. "Hoss" was the nickname of Eric Cartwright, the middle son, played by Dan Blocker. edit »
Murdock: It's early in the a.m. The city was quiet. Officer Baracus and I had been assigned to patrol. The city was at peace with itself. But it wasn't gonna be that way for long. And when the peace is broken, that's when I go to work. I wear a badge.
