• When Superboy meets up with Metallo at the bar, he's holding a lead (bullet proof) vest that he ripped off from a cop. He uses it to cover his chest in an effort to shield himself from the Kryptonite. In the episode Metallo, he wore an entire lead suit, and was affected by the Kryptonite when his helmet was knocked off. Surely in this instance, he could be weakened when ALL of his body, except for his chest, was exposed to the radiation. [edit]
• When Superboy and Metallo fight at the bank, they fight for several moments until Metallo's Kryptonite finally begins to weaken Superboy. It should weaken him upon first contact. [edit]

• This episode features the only use of red kryptonite in the series. [edit]
• Two great tributes to the comics here: General Swan (named after Superman artist Curt Swan) and Warden Ordway (named after another Superman artist Jerry Ordway). [edit]

• (After confronting Superboy at the bank, Metallo gets the best of him, thanks to the Kryptonite. Superboy tries to remove it from Metallo's power source.)
  Metallo: Aw, what are you doing? Are you trying to steal my thunder, huh?
  Superboy: The Kryptonite, it's killing me. I've gotta get it away from me.
  Metallo: Hey, forget it. Thanks to Uncle Sam, I'm new and improved. This Kryptonite's not going anywhere [pressing buttons on his powers source to increase the Kryptonite's output] unless I - say - so.
  Superboy: Ahhhhhhh!
  Metallo: They told me not to kill you, but I was never any good at following orders! Ha, ha, ha, ha! [edit]
