It is now said that Jake, J.D, Clampett, the unemployed actor, is in fact a relative of Jed Clampett. And Jake decides to use the Clampett’s money to further his dead-end career. But with the love of show business, the family decides to join in it as well.

It starts with Jethro. He wants to be an actor, and since Jake is using “unknowns” like Marlon Brando, he could just as easily use Jethro. He tells Jethro to see the Brando movie playing in town. And when Jethro returns, he’s talking like Brando, dresses in black and leather, and riding around on a motorcycle.

Next is Elly May. She is transformed into Venus Adore, a gorgeous Marilyn Monroe-like movie star. She has her hair done, though the family thinks it’s messy. She talks in a breathy city accent, and looks as sexy as she can. She is the next big thing in Hollywood. The soon to be number one starlet!

Granny is the hardest, but once Jake convinces her she will be in Hoot Gibson’s next picture, playing his love interest, she is sold. She turns into an Old West can can dancer type, singing on top of a piano, her song for Hoot.

The whole family has been transformed.

And this is something Jed doesn’t like. He wants them to realize how ridiculous they appear to others. Miss Jane has a plan. And the plan takes effect. Jed becomes the next pop-rock sensation. And it is all thanks to his cousin Jake. The family finally sees how insane they look, and chases their “cousin” out of the house. Jane and Drysdale are thrilled! But Mr. Clampett keeps on with his new persona. Luckily, it was an act that had them going for a minute. And now the whole family is back to normal.
