Duke is sick, and Elly calls the "critter doctor" from the zoo. When Jed finds out he is a "college boy," he thinks it is a possible beau for Elly May, not knowing he is a graduate and an older man. Granny is against this doctor coming, and she mistakes a young salesman who is selling bug repellents for the doctor. She is trying to get rid of the crazy "bug doctor," who is trying to sell his products on her. But she learns who the real doctor is and ends up going out on a date with him.

Granny: Speak for yourself. (edit) Jed: Now Granny, you listen to me.
Granny: Now you listen to me! It's bad enough that I hafta be sewing clothes for a monkey or washing bed linen after a hound dog, but I'll be switched if I'm goin' around spraying perfume on flies and mosquitas and givin' parties for moths.
Jed: Well nobody wants ya ta.
Granny: He does - that crazy bug doctor. Tried to sell me some moth cakes.
Jed: Moth cakes?
Granny: If that ain't enough, he wants me to give a bath to fleas.
Jed: Now Granny!
Granny: It's true! Tried to sell me flea soap, flea shampoo, and flea dustin' powder! (edit) Granny: Do you know what kind of a doctor you are?! You're a dang blane bug doctor! That's what cha ere!
Jim Gardner: Exactly! (edit) (Jim is trying to get Elly to come to the parlor after she left)
Jim Gardner: Hey! Hey beautiful, where are ya? Hey c'mon in! Hey gorgeous!
Granny: Stop yer yellin', I'm comin'. (edit) Jim: I have this wonderful line I'd like to sell you.
Elly: That what you're totin' in your suitcase?
Jim: No, that's another line I'd like to sell ya. (edit)
