I've got alot of shows I follow, but this is THE show I really look forward to every single week. It's the best show airing these days, and by far the best new sitcom for ages.
A truly must see show that will make you laugh alot!

It's only about a month since I reviewed this show, but now I feel I didn't really do it justice in my last review. Back then it was 4 days until the beginning of season 3, and I was excited to catch up with our favourite geeks.
After watching the 5th episode of season 3 I realised this is by far my favourite show at the moment, so the past two days I've reseen all episodes again. Just finnished my reruns after laughing two days straight, so now I take the time to give it the review I feel it truly deserves.
First of all. This just is a must see show. If you haven't watched it at all, give it a chance. I know tv-shows ,like almost everything else, is a matter of taste, but if you don't like this I just feel sorry for you. This show is awesome, and those who doesn't enjoy it really miss out in so many ways.
There's a forum thread asking "Why do you like this show?" I was considering answering there, but I realised my answer would be so long I might as well give this show a 2nd review.
Plot:
Sitcom about the hyperintelligent roommates and physicists Leonard and Sheldon, their simmilar geeky friends Howard and Rajesh and the influence the normal and hot girl Penny has on their lifes when she moves in across the hall of Sheldon and Leonard's.
The show is filled with technobabble and both scientific and pop-cultural references, and manage to pull it off in every way. That's actually one of the biggest strenghts of the show. They are not afraid to have their main geeks discussing everything from scientific research through comic book characters and Sci-Fi tv-show characters in the dialogue, throwing in humour difficult to understand without the inside knowledge, and still manage to keep the show balanced with alot of well known sitcom receipe winners in oneliners and funny situations everyone catch immediatly.
I don't read comic books, I've never been into Sci-Fi shows or movies and I haven't got an acedemic education or workplace. I still love this show and I find it hilarious. That's how well they balance the show, and still they reward their audience with so much allusions and spesific humour related to these geeks' interests. It still makes you laugh the 2nd and 3rd time you watch the episodes, as you pick up new jokes or funny facial expressions.
Characters:
Sheldon is probably the best sitcom character since Cosmo Kramer. Getting to know him is highly rewarding, and he's funny on so many levels. The way the rest of them try to educate this hyperinteligent guy on everything from proper responses in everyday conversations to how friends interact socially, is just priceless.
Leonard ,as the most normal of the geeky foursome, is the main link to normal people. His big heart and even bigger crush on Penny, is their main roadmap to their everyday-lifes newfound interaction with their nabour.
Howard and Rajesh is inestimable for the show, with Howard's thoughts about himself as a ladies man and Rajesh' foreign cultural background and his problem not being able to speak to girls without being drunk.
And then there's Penny. The really hot next door nabour with her dates, waitress job and no interest in comic books, science or anything else the geeky foursome usually spend time on.
These five characters and the way they rub off on eachother and develope through their interaction, is the show.
Cast:
Parsons, Galecki and Cuoco is the hard core, and I can't imagine a better casting for the roles. Their acting is pure gold, and I think they're spot on for appearance as well. I'll easily admit with Cuoco moving in next door, I'd be as easily enchanted as Leonard. She's really really hot. Helberg and Nayyar haven't equally huge characters, but both are superb casting as well as they truly capture their characters.
A cast like this reminds me again, like the charcters of Sheldon vs Kramer, of Seinfeld. Without such a talented cast, they couldn't have pulled of this kind of show.
And finally. The one thing I come back to again and again when I review my favourite shows. The Big Bang Theory has alot of heart, and heart is for me what makes or breaks a show.
They portray the geeky foursome without ever losing grip with the characters essence. They never sell them short because they are geeks and they never pull the foursome so far out of their terrain they lose touch with their reality. And we early realise Penny has got a huge heart to go with her beauty. She's a character they so easily could have taken a wrong turn with, but between the show keeping her real and Cuoco's acting, they've managed to keep the magic.
The way these five interacts, developes and rubs off on eachother is the backbone of the show. Then the heart shown in everything from Sheldon learning to pick up on sarcasm to Penny using Star Trek reference to explain something, is pure tv-excellence.
I'm closing in on 1000 words in this review, and I still feel I can't do the show justice.
The main characters is pure gold. The casting is excellent and the acting as well. It's well written, so hilarious and it's filled with allusions rewarding the viewers. The characters development and the heart it's done with is what still makes me wait excited for new episodes, and I'm never disappointed. It's so different from everything else created these days, and still it's just a show following the everyday-life of four geeks and their hot new girl friend across the hall.
I can't recommend it highly enough. If they keep up the good work for a couple of seasons more, I'll adjust my rating and The Big Bang Theory will become my 2nd tv-show getting a 10 here on tv.com. As it's now I can only once again tell you this is my favourite show these days, and I pray they manage to keep it up for years to come.
