Miss Stanwyck was one of a handful of leading ladies from Hollywood's golden era to make a successful transition to television. In spite of her considerable success on the silver screen, she is probably best remembered by many TV fans as Victoria Barkley.
As a side note, Fred MacMurray, her co-star in the 1944 film noir classic Double Indemnity, was perhaps the only leading man from that era to make such a successful transition to the small screen, with the popular sitcom My Three Sons (1960-1972). (edit)
