What a great episode! I love how they are handling the competition for Chief. Captain Raydor did an amazing job of keeping Brenda in the race and prepping her for the interview with the mayor.

Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson, one of the best in the business is leading her team to investigate the murders all over LA.... hide show

Kyra Sedgwick is obviously the last woman standing, manage to overshadowed all her counterparts which most of them are men. With a superb acting, good dialog, great team, a little humor here and there, The Closer is without doubt one of the best police series at the moment.

And what makes it better, it keeps on improving and entertaining each season.

The series captured my heart from the Pilot up till now.
Kyra really deserves the Emmy, and I hope (and pretty sure) she'll at least being nominated every year as long as The Closer still on air.

I Love The Closer to bits!

One of the best on TV right now! hide show

The Closer really is one of the best shows right now on television. Everything about it is careful, smart, well-thought of. The plot is clever but not extreme, it develops naturally. The characters are great, Brenda is so original, but also believable, she has her quirks, her love for chocolate, her "thank you so much". Everyone loves how she plays dumb in the interview room. The rest of the team are equally interesting and funny. Flinn and Prevenza are the best of the best. Prevenza of course prevails. And as for the dialogues? Well, you'll just have to listen to them. ;)

    Thank you... hide show

I love watching Deputy Police Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson. "Thank you" is my favorite phrase and I am also using it in my office.
This show have much more humor that the other crime drama series. The nature of the relation and funny dialogues between Brenda and Fitz are always giving me laugh. Oh my God Fitz must have a soul of a saint to live with Brenda. And Provenza always something funny happened to him.
A clever stories and good acting always a great show comes out of these two. And the closer has the whole parts of the equation.
    I can't wait for the season 5.

deputy police chief brenda leigh johnson heads up the priority homicide division of the lapd. despite initial misgivings about her leadership, her team works together to solve la's toughest homicide cases. hide show

many people may think, another crime drama? the closer is heads above most. a nice blend of drama, action and humor. in order to improve lapd's case closure record, chief of police pope brings in his former colleague and mistress brenda johnson and names her deputy chief of police. brenda used to work homicide in atlanta and intelligence in washington dc. immediately, the priority homicide squad as huge doubts of the new deputy chief's abilities and methods. initially, there is a mini coup. however, brenda's uncanny ability to read suspects and extract confessions make an impression and the squad warms up to their new chief. the show incorperates some humor to lighten up some of the darker, more serious cases. the interaction between the detectives is well written and the characters have great chemistry. brenda has quite a few quirks and personal issues that make for some extremely humurous situations. ie her addiction to sweets and fear of commitment. two of my favorite characters are lt's flyn and provenza. they've been working together a long time and are best friends. they have a great commeraderie and are a hoot. they seem to get into a lot of mischeif and brenda at times has to punish them like a couple of children. other detectives include sgt gabriel, brenda's right hand, st tao, dectectives sanchez and daniels and buzz, the av guy. there's also commander taylor, who, during the first couple of seasons was not please at all that brenda was brought in and handed a rank higher than his own. as the years pass, he has a newfound respect for brenda and realizes her methods work and she creates results. and of course, there is chief will pope. brenda's former colleague and lover. they ahve a mutual respect for one another and a guarded work relationship. is he a roadblock to personal happiness for brenda or will fbi agent fritz howard tear down the walls? great storlines and characters. makes me thank the inventor of dvr, i know i won't miss an episode of this fabulous program.
