And So We Commence (2)Episode Number: 201 Season Num: 8 First Aired: Thursday April 30, 1992 Prod Code: 0824 |
Denise calls and announces that she is pregnant. Kenny manages to get a hold of the last three tickets the Huxtables need to get all their guests to the graduation. Vanessa confuses everyone by calling Dabnis "honey." As the ceremony begins, Cliff thinks back to a time when he feared that Theo would never live up to his potential. Cliff becomes upset to learn that the students graduate by section, rather than being called to the stage by name. With everyone out of the house that night, Cliff and Clair share a dance.

Grandpa Huxtable: Anybody seen Theo?
Pam: Left side of the park, 48th row, 18th man in! (edit) (After everyone has gotten up from their seats to go home)
Cliff: (Stands up, sits back down) Oh, look, I've graduated. (edit)

OK, how come Carrie and Al Hanks all of a sudden decide to come out of hiding? Not to discredit Theo graduating from college, but don't you think they should also have been there at the hospital for Sondra's delivery of their great-grandchildren? Where have they been all this time?
(edit)
After Cliff rings the doorbell for the final time and the peppy jazz music begins, he and Clair appear to break character. While they dance, Clair mumbles, "Is he looking at us?" most likely referring to someone offstage.

At the ceremony, Cliff thinks back to when Theo was less mature (the pilot). He's discouraged that each name isn't individually called. Nevertheless,Theo finally graduates. And So We Commence (2)Perfect "Series finale" This was a great series finale. The Cosby show was a show that almost everybody grew up on. In the final episode everybody is going to Theo's graduation which turns into a huge ordeal seeing as Theo doesn't have enough tickets. A very memorable episode.
