This episode bears some resemblance plotwise to the Millennium episode, "Beware of the Dog." This is perhaps by design, as Erin Maher and Kay Reindl were staff writers on that show.

Nicole de Boer doesn't have any dialogue in this episode.

Bruce: According to the deed, you closed escrow on that place four years ago.
Johnny: I woulda celebrated if I hadn't been in a coma. (edit) Johnny: Whatever drove this guy crazy is...out here.
Bruce: So of course that's where we're going.
Johnny: Of course.
Bruce: Well, thanks for inviting me Johnny..you know I've always found sanity to be a bit...uh...overrated. (edit) Johnny: Okay, that's a bear. (edit) Purdy: I should have known God wouldn't let me off so easily. (edit)

Purdy runs inside after seeing the mountain lion, and turns to find his dog growling at him and about to attack. Next we go to the town meeting, which Purdy attends, and he seems fine. Later, Johnny goes to visit Purdy at his house, and finds him in his study with a bloody arm and a gun on the desk. Purdy then tells Johnny he had to shoot the dog as it attacked him. It seems they got the order of the scenes mixed up a little. Also, if his dog was not killed by the mountain lion, what were those body parts in the garden?

Johnny: (as a bear attacks) I hear ya out there, Yogi!
Yogi Bear was a fictional, animated creature which headlined the success of Hanna-Barbera's cartoon productions. (edit)
