i'm appealing to DC Comics please bring back the flash to the big screen. i really love the tv show, superman returns did well in the box office, you got to make a flash movie trilogy as well. i'm sure it'll be big in the box office as well.

They are going to make this a movie. Rhan Rynolds from Blade Trinity has been reported as saying that he wants the lead very badly.

The Flash needs to be a *F'n Movie. Before Wonder Woman, Before AquaMan (the newest wave of rumors), but the Flash.

The series was good for it's handling. I blame production companies for comic book failings (PUT $$ in and EFFECTS)because the Fans are already there, but if you slop it up we will know and go away.

Old school **** don't work no more just stay as close to the comic book as humanily possibly. We ARE here to watch it!! 4real

I agree. I would love to see The Flash as a movie. Ryan reynolds would be perfect in my view.Since he is a great actor and funny too.  Lets hope it happens and he gets the part.

I, too, think that Ryan Reynolds is an inspired choice to play the Flash.
I read on the Flash fan website (http://www.hyperborea.org/flash/) that the script has been taken over by Shawn Levy (Night at the Museum) from David Goyer (Batman Begins, Blade).  In the article, Goyer had been very enthusiastic about the Flash script:

“We’re going to go into the ‘Speed Force’ and a lot of the cosmic
aspects of the character from the more recent past,” Goyer says. “Trust
me, we’re going to do a lot more than have the Flash run on water and
create vortices. I have a guy from M.I.T. helping me with all of this.
We’re going to be playing with relativity, Doppler effects and all
kinds of things like that. Audiences will be amazed.”

Now  THAT sounds cool.  And it's really something you gotta do in a big budget picture: stretch the boundaries.

BAD NEWS UPDATE straight from David Goyer's myspace blog:

    Goyer Flash R.I.P.

"Well, I've been waiting a few months to relate this news -- but I am sad to say that my version of The Flash is dead at WB. The God's honest truth is that WB and myself simply couldn't agree on what would make for a cool Flash film. I'm quite proud of the screenplay I turned in and I genuinely think it would've been the basis of a ground-breaking film. But as of now, the studio is heading in a different direction. I expect you'll hear of some new developments on that front shortly."

This was posted back in February. Unfortunately, I haven't found much else on the matter.

    However...

The Hollywood Reporter published this tantilizing story just a couple weeks ago:

"DC Comics' superteam Teen Titans is getting the big-screen treatment courtesy of Warner Bros. Pictures.

The live-action adaptation is being produced by Akiva Goldsman and Kerry Foster through their Weed Road banner, while Mark Verheiden has been brought on board to write the script.

The Teen Titans first appeared in 1964 as a sort of junior Justice League, comprising Robin, Kid Flash, Aqualad, Wonder Girl and Speedy, the respective sidekicks of A-list heroes Batman, Flash, Aquaman, Wonder Woman and Green Arrow."

More on this can be found here.

Maybe I'm being naive, but wouldn't it make more sense to do a Justice League movie before doing a movie about their kid sidekicks?

Not knocking the Teen Titans, who I think are quite cool in their own right, but doesn't this seem a little wack basswards?

Aren't they supposed to be working on a JLA movie already? I thought it was supposed to be out next year or so.

As far as bringing the Flash to the big screen... I don't know if it'd be such a good idea. I loved the character, at least back when Barry was the Flash... and I liked Wally being Kid Flash. He did ok when he took over from Barry, but then they started going all metaphysical with this speedforce and all... I lost interest in it at that point.

Now, a movie of the Barry Allen and Hal Jordan team of the Flash and Green Lantern would be interesting, but even with that, I'm not sure there is enough of a fan base to make it worthwhile for Warner Bros. to attempt, unfortunately.
