T.V. shows and movies that deal with war themes lose most of their audience when women, and a script of twisted/soap-opera sacharin is supposed to carry the show/movie....everything just grinds to a halt....Combat had a few scripts like this too, but at least they spaced them out over 5 seasons....Gallant Men only ran for a single season therefore it hurts to sit through this episode...and two songs in the cafe was not needed either!......It may have been episodes like this that doomed this program, pushing it in the direction of family entertainment instead of gritty, down to earth, realistic, wartime drama.
