"The Good Wife" is a female-driven drama about a politician's wife who pursues her own career as a defense attorney after her husband is sent to jail on charges of political corruption. Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies) will not only have to deal with her career but also with keeping her family… More together by providing a stable home for her two children.
Does anyone else sense some chemistry between those two? Anything can happen :P
The first season of The Good Wife was, well, good, but what improvements/story arcs would you like to see next season? - More/less emphasis on the trials of the week? - Peter going to jail full-time? - Alicia and Will getting together? Alicia and Peter prevailing? Or maybe Will and Peter?… More - More/less with the kids? Let's hear what you hope to see from the show.
The Emmy nominations just came out and as expected, Julianna Marguiles is up for Best Actress Drama. But the show also scored a Best Drama nod and both Baranski and Archie are in the Supporting Actress category with Alan Cummings in Best Guest Actor Drama. Nice to see the love spread out so much… More although Noth deserved recognition too so here's hoping for some wins.
I couldn't just review one episode because they have all pretty much blown me away. Not only the storyline but the acting has been off the charts fantastic hide show
I watched the first episode waiting to be let down, and the following episodes waiting for a mistake, a wrong move, or a poor job. But I never saw it. Each episode has pulled me in further and made me vested in the characters. The daily struggles of Alicia and the cases she takes on would be enough to keep my attention, but there are multiple arcs that have sucked me in. I'm already a fan of Will and Alicia but I also love the family that Alicia is struggling to hold together. Her stregth and vunerability make me feel for this character. I cannot wait to see where this show goes.

An Interesting show, most law shows focus only on the crimes and criminals themselves but this one also explores the characters personal lives. Overall sold cast, performances and story line. hide show
The good wife is the first law show I've ever watched because it is nice to see a strong woman keeping her job and trying to maintain her home after her husband went and did the nasty for everyone to see. The woman who plays Alicia, Juliana Margulies is a solid actress I think she shines in her roles. One of the actors I was excited to see on the show was Matt Czucry because I remembered him as Logan on Gilmore Girls. I think that he is also very good he doesnt say much on the show but makes and impact, bravo. Overall The Good Wife provides an interesting story a strong cast and a new take on law shows.
Summary--Don't disappoint me. So far, so good. Excellent cast. Excellent story lines but be careful that the Indian girl doesn't get pigeonholed. Be careful that North knows that life's redemption is both as priceless as it is ultimately meaningless. hide show
Finally a show besides Mad Men worthy of watching! Juliana, I love you no matter what. You were excellent in Canterbury Tales, but it got so maudlin with repeat references to the stolen child. And so now, you wait and watch, excellent juxtaposition. However, I worry. Because it's so obvious who's set her up, her partner, taking the pics, leaving the photoshopped manilla envelope. Please. Don't throw her and North under the stupid bus. There's not much else to hope for on TV. The AMA awards--exuded illicit sexuality. Go for it! Boring! Adam Lambert, lamb to producer's slaughter. What will they do for encores? And here's the best part! Bo Peep won everything! TV like the rest in life, can't pander, the stink stench the viewers don't forget, who are more sophisticated than your writers I dare say.
Julianna knows how to act without speaking.... hide show
Watch her eyes, watch her hands, watch her body. She is acting without even opening her mouth. Those that don't like this show probably see this as an exposure of something they have done to their beloved. To me, it shows a strong woman getting over a man who wants to have it all plus some. How many times I have seen high-powered men flaunting their ability to violate their wives' trust. It's again reaffirmed by David Letterman, who yet is seen as the victim in his whole mess. I like Dave, don't get me wrong, but I think he needs to take the punishment he rightly deserves. With the audience laughing it makes his sexual side arrangements seem funny and even excusable. If he were married to "Alicia Florrick" she'd put him where he needs to be. Again, Julianna, makes the character of Alicia Florrick come alive. Congratulations, Julianna, for being a great actor.
