Episode Summary

Organized crime's "Protection" Boss Duke Slate decides it's time to acquire the oriental businesses in town and uses Low Sing's gang to handle his influence. Low Sing, a martial arts professional, instructs his craft to his gang using the actions of a caged Preying Mantis, analogizing its intricate moves to proper Kung-Fu application. After a kidnapping, engineered by Low Sing, a challenge between Low Sing & Kato results in an interesting result.

  • The Hornet is sitting on the right and Jimmy Kee on the left in the back seat, yet when the Hornet gets out of the Black Beauty he gets out of the left door. []
  • When The Green Hornet meets up with Duke Slate, Duke pulls out a rifle from the back seat of his car and attempts to shoot The Green Hornet. The Hornet aims his "Sting" weapon and destroys the rifle. As the rifle crumbles and goes up in smoke, the control cable that made the rifle go up in smoke, is very visible coming out of the base of the rifle, and almost becomes entangle around Duke's arm as it falls from the car. []
  • Mako is well known for his portrayal of of Po-Han in the wonderful film, "The Sand Pebbles". He was nominated for Best Supporting actor in 1966 for this remarkable role. He has also acted with Chuck Norris in several of his features. []
  • DSTV stands for Daily Sentinel TV which is also owned by Britt Reid a.k.a. The Green Hornet. []
  • One of the extremely few times you see Kato caught off guard by another martial arts thug, and falls into an open trash can head first while the thug gets away. []
