Stephen and Yasim unite with Michael whom was previously thought for dead. Michael returns to uncover the truth about the mysterious illness and believes it was caused by a bad batch of a Hepatitis B vaccine.
Stephen and Yasim join forces with Russell after he saves them from an assassination attempt. They continue to unravel the mystery of why refugees like Nadir are dying from an unknown disease and why so many microbiologists are dying under mysterious circumstances. Conscious of the fact that they have been noticed they try to throw off those that have been watching them.
Stephen wakes up after being attacked while searching for Yasim. He discovers two dead bodies including one of a man that was connected to Yasim. He is then ambushed by Russell who takes in him for questioning around the death of numerous microbiologists, a mystery virus, and the whereabouts of Nadir. Meanwhile watchful eyes of the government are still tracking Stephen to see what he knows about all of this.
Stephen Ezard returns to Britain to attend his brother Michael's funeral after being out of the country for four years. What he finds is that his country has become an unfamiliar police state in the wake of a terrorist incident. He begins to research the circumstances around his brother's death with the help of a government database but his work has not gone unnoticed. The same database is being used to watch him.
