The Prime Minister arrests a family who he believes know the whereabouts of the children. The children decide it is time for the people to stand up against the Prime Minister and have a new one elected.
In the Pacific Ocean, a group of 5 school children on a trip find themselves separated from the others and eventually trapped on an island and their boat wrecked. The children find that the people are descended from a group of convicts that were sailing from Portsmouth to New Holland (Australia) 200 years ago. They have been completely shut off from the outside world ever since due to the remote location, the reef and magnetic band that surrounds the islands making them inaccessible for large ships. They are still dressing and living like their ancestors and know nothing of modern technology. They are ruled by one man the Q who they believe was on the original ship and claims to have discovered the secret of eternal life in a blue seaweed that grows on the neighboring island of Malo. Glad you cleared up the confusion with some sites incorrectly stating Mark was the American and David was English. I knew I was right about David in the lost islands being American as he was my first crush (I was only 10) He probably wouldnt be happy to hear it but it was true. Loved the show, used to rush home from school every Thursday to watch it couldnt believe it finished after only one season. Been looking to buy it on DVD but so far only French companies have released it and their sites don't have an english version so I havent been able to order it.

The part of David was an American boy portrayed by Robert Edgington, an American boy. This site and others list the part of David as being from England. Not true. The part of David was played by Robert Edgington, an American living in Austrailia at the time, portraying an American.
In the series, David, was the youngest of the 5 shipwrecked kids. In reality, Robert Edgington, (David), was the youngest of the 5 stars of the show.
Born in a small town in the United States, he moved to Austrailia in 1972. While attending Baulkham Hills High School was offered and accepted the part.

A really good childrens adventure show, hide show
This was a pretty good childrens adventure television series. As is normal with good television shows, this one did not last long enough. This is a show that I would suggest watching if you get the chance. Check the bargain bins at Wal-Mart, the online movies sites (Amazon.com and such) and all of the cable channels that run old shows. Nick at Nite and TV Land are great for theses kind of shows. They will even do a week long spot for shows that only had 6 or so episodes. Then you have your super stations. They run a bunch of old shows too. All in all a pretty good show that did not get a good enough chance. Sometimes it is a simple as the show it is up against. Look at Law & Order. It is one of the longest running shows on TV. They moved it to go up against Lost. After about 2 weeks of getting pounded in the ratings it was moved back to it's original time slot. Shows like this should be given more of an opportunity.
